This franchise just doesn't have it. What can they (Bidwills) do?

Do they need to give more "perks" to their players and their families?
(Jerseys, hats, cars, limo service, country club memberships, vacation packages, whatever...)

Do they need to build an air-conditioned practice facility?

What do they need to do? Are the Bidwills missing on something that other NFL teams do for their players, or are the players just NOT into the Cardinals and concede to their self-fulfilling prophecies of how in the hell they wound up here?

I just don't get it. Arizona is a place to be. People from everywhere wanna live here. Air-conditioned brand new stadium with sell-out crowds...how do you not buy into it and become winners?

Hire a really good GM and watch the games like the rest of us only in much better accomodations.

Don't name your stadium after a college, when you just finished playing in one for the past 18 years.

It makes them look too greedy.

What people fail to realize is that the Bidwills view this team as a business first and a football operation second. They are in this to make money, and I can't blame them for that. But, there are guys who care about football and make a ton of money. i.e. Jerry Jones. They will not spend money to win games. With revenue sharing and a sold out house, they are making cash hand over fist. They could invest another 10 Million in the team and maybe make an additional 1 Million. Why expend the effort for 1 Million?

They don't care and it is evident in the fact that they won't spend the cap, budget for substandard assistants, and hold out on draft picks every year.

The Bidwills do not understand football, but they do understand a balance sheet. They are the equivalent of a nameless, faceless, corporation owning this team as a subsidiary. No passion, no concern for fans or players. If the team is profitable, it is a winner in their eyes. If we accidentally win a couple games, that is gravy.

They will NEVER sell this cash cow, so get used to more suckage.

Oh, a good start would be firing Green, Rackers, and O. Ross. Again, this won't happen due to the fact that these are money losing moves.

Don't sit on 10 million and go hard after the players we really need. We need depth and more talent on this team. Sorry going thru other teams garbage and expects them to come in and be a world beater won't cut it in the NFL.

This is pure BS. What could spending $10 million dollars more have accomplished last night? Nothing. This team loses a heartbreaker like it did last night and you want to blame the owners? This loss is strictly on the players. They made 3 mistakes last night and the mistakes killed them. This team has the talent to compete with any other NFL team. They need all the players playing 4 quarters of football all the time. They haven't figured out how to do that yet.

I believe the point he was trying to make was not that last night's game was the owner's fault (it wasn't) but the fact that throughout the history of this team the Bidwells have viewed this as a way to make money. By not using all the income, they pocket a few million bucks a year. It is the pathetic history of the team that you can blame on the Bidwells not last nights sorry excuse for a game.

THAT is exactly why they wanted to trade Davis, they see that as a money making move. It in no way improves the team, as much as he has not reached his potential, he is still our bst OLinemen...

Ownership has nothing to do with last night's results? So if that is the case ownership has no ability to influence onfield results.? As I recall it Bidwill hired Green, the GM, staff, authorized budgets including player payroll. The team is always farthest form the salary cap during the season. I know the response to that will be so is NE. Well if they have the kind of success they have had then they appear to be able to manage it. If you have an embarrassing team every year then if nothing but PR sake spend the money so you dont give peole like me ammo to criticize. How do I get to this level in business or govt where noboby holds you accountable? Really, I want to be at that level. Big pay check and no accountability. I want to join that club. We see that with govt currently too.

I used to post here but quit because I was tired of being insulted by strangers for pointing out the obvious. I still come hear to read but this is first post in nearly a year. I come to this board to get a laugh at peoples unflinching willingness to believe in something regardless of the years of results that dispute your reason for optimism. To keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity. I like watching year after year the "were going to the Super Bowl" posts from Feb to Sept and then the we suck from Oct to January. It really is quite humorous.

That game last night remined me of the time in the 80s when the Cardinals played the Giants on Monday Night Football. It went into overtime with both teams playing awful. The Cards kicker O'Donoghue missed easy field goals and the Giants missed easy scoring opportunities. The announcing crew of Dandy Don, Howard and Frank said neither team deserved to win. The game ended in a tie. So you see what happened last night is nothing new if you have been paying attention.

How many times do coaches, GMs and players have to get changed out with the same awful results each time before people realize that the problem resides with ownership? Once again it goes to the insanity statement I made earlier. Every other NFL team has been able to put together winning teams from time to time including the Bengals and the Saints. We are not talking about a few years of awful for the Cards. The problem is obviously an element that has been constant during that whole period.

So I remember the talk that Green was a god and was going to take this team to the promissed land. Now Green is crap and you guys wait for the next savior to come along. Pathetic really. I still watch the Cards with amusement but have also moved on to watching the Rams and Broncos.

I have stopped my foolhardy cycle of buying Cardinals products and subscribing to DirecTV football package all soley on the hope that Bidwill has any ability or desire to create an NFL quality product. Bidwill hasnt gotten any of my money for over a year.

The NFL should investigate the Cardinals and take action against ownership if the investigation proves what I think it would prove. The NFL is commiting a fraud by allowing this awful ownership to continue running the team. I believe that the NFL by competitveness rules and reputation creates a defacto promise of a certain quality and competitiveness among its teams. If it knowingly allows a defective product in one of its markets it is commiting a fraud.

Dont bother to insult me because I will not return to this thread again.

I am not blaming the Bidwills for last night. That is squarely on coaching and individual performance. Assignments were blown and special teams are a joke. In addition we continue to rack up stupid penalties. This is not a well coached team. Do you can Denny and start over? I don't know. What I do know is that this is not working.

The point I was originally making is that the ownership has a "who cares" attitude about winning and losing. They are not in this for football. If you think they are, you are fooling yourself. Their "whatever happens, happens" approach has created an atmosphere of accepted (and expected) losing. The Bidwills are winners every year in the $$ category. Yet we continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL on the field.

Feel free to defend your heroes, but I'm not going to agree that they are good, or even mediocre, owners. They are terrible owneres because they are in it for personal gain, not competition as a pro team.

It's true. I think there's a little bit of hope if Micheal can ever get control of this franchise because he'll sell or has a stronger desire to win. However, as long as papa B is kicking nothing will change.

We have the players here... we just need a coach who is a true leader... not a disgruntled pie eater who does nothing but criticize players and take no accountability himself..

And of course we need an OLine...

I expect all that to be solved in the offseason and then we will see the losing mentality leave...

But it all starts with the coach..

You are living 3 years in the past. That was the Cardinals pre-M Bidwill. The Cards have been making all the right moves to bring this team up to an NFL caliber team every since Mike B. took over. They are going after free agents, drafting better than most teams and extending their good players before they become free agents. M. Bidwill has a personal stake in this. He promised this town a winning team when he got the stadium. Don't sell this man short. He will find a way to do it.

You can't turn this culture of losing around without getting the players to buy into it. Green hasn't managed to do that. He either needs to figure out how to do it or get someone in here who can. If this team ever starts winning, it will be contagious and they will turn the corner. We have the talent. We just need that one spark to bring it all together.

This makes no sense: ARIZONA Cardinals; whose stadium is in GLENDALE; stadium named University of PHOENIX stadium!! That is so stupid!

Hmmm, some of us have been saying that since '88. How many coaches, players, front office personel, etc have they gone through since moving here????

But it all starts with the coach..

Wrong.. Crap rolls down hill. Why could Denny succeed in Minney, but not here? It's the winning/losing mentality that starts at the top.
