Below is a quote from the press conference today:

If I look back and I think to myself in November and December that you’re the general manager with the number one pick in the draft, it’s embarrassing as hell. In April, we’re not going to feel that way,” Keim said.

I’m confused by what he meant. Is he suggesting they won’t feel embarrassment but joy because they will have the opportunity to pick any player they want?

Is he calling his shot and suggesting they will be light years ahead of where they are now in terms of coaching staff and roster??

Reading way too much into it dude

Ha yes probably. But you have to watch the video of him saying it. There’s this swagger/passion that comes out...As if he’s saying “you all might be laughing now but you won’t in a couple months.” Like I said, it felt like he was subtlety calling his shot.

Just speculating, but I believe that was Keim emphatically saying as a football guy & two-time NFL exec of the year, that he will right the ship quickly without further interference from the top. I believe that Michael recognizes his massive error not letting Keim do his job and took accountability for the meddling, which is what good servant leaders do. The way Keim reacted at last year’s press conference for Wilks was telling... it was as if Keim was saying (without saying), you can have this hire, but we’re likely going to be right back here in a year. Michael needs to supply the resources and let Keim, McD, & Disner work their magic. We’ll back in this biotch in no time!!!

I got very much the same feeling. Come to think of it back in the original Wilks presser I remember Keim being remarkably uncomfortable.

You get the first pick by being the worst team in the NFL; that’s embarrassing. I think Keim is pledging to turn lemons into lemonade.

I can't get excited by anything these guys say - it's all coachspeak (GM speak)? I'll be more focused on stuff they do and not so much what they say.

The Wilks hire was MB’s way to bitch slap Keim for his drinking escapades with BA. Little did we know that it would drive Keim over the edge. Keim knew that was going to be a disaster & was drinking himself silly.

So if he will get drunk again we will know the reason
