That for 30 years we have been trying to produce a good OL. How is that possible? Some teams can replace their whole OL in one year and play better than ours seems to ever do.

Should we maybe when Fitz and Palmer retires, put that money if getting top FA OLmen and stop wasting draft picks on them and filling in with rejects. Draft our QB and top WR to replace LF and spend as much as it takes to build an OL and a solid backup OL to go with it. Spend the rest on keeping our RB and on D. The end!

Would you trade for Duane Brown of the Texans then? Holding out, and probably a buy low option with risk.

An inconsistent mistake-prone football team that beats themselves.

(All Garrett & his team had to do was play close to the vest, leverage field position and then step back and let the Cards beat ourselves).

This is our history.

Here's what bugs me so much... that o-line in 2015 was VERY GOOD. Palmer had HUGE pockets to throw from and literally every back we threw in there could gash people. So, what happens the next season? Wholesale changes and then even more this year.

That line back in 2015 might not have had individually great talent but they functioned very well as a unit.

1. I hate the fact that we lack any sense of urgency or killer instinct. We were in both games that we lost, and had a torrid start to each one, but failed to convert when we had all the momentum. The missed chip shot FG completely turned the game around and it was all downhill after that.

2. I hate the fact that Amos Jones is still employed. Players miss FGs and shank punts, but when there is no semblance of blocking in either situation, it drastically affects how players execute

3. I hate the fact that our GM thinks he can outsmart everyone and for this season, he really just played himself. We're paying HOW MUCH for a hot-headed TE that gets at least one dumb penalty a game and can't block/chip a DE to save his life?

4. I hate the fact that some of our "key" players spend more time on social media than perfecting their craft. One of our players even goes as far as proclaiming himself as the best defensive player in the league and spends an inordinate amount of time with dramatic posts (how about getting off of social media altogether to avoid the distraction?). Also, I've learned through social media that another one of our former first rounders is really good at jazz and has a unique sense of style (which he flaunts non stop), but can't sniff the field (or gets called for an offsides at least once per game).

5. I hate the fact that we're wasting away Larry's (probable) last year in the league. Did anyone see when the cameras panned over to Larry sitting by himself on the bench in the waning moments of the game last night? All of our youngsters may not care that much, since their days in the league are not numbered and they can take a loss in stride, but every minute of each game counts for him. This is why it was so heartbreaking to see him so emotional after the NFCC loss at Carolina. It takes intense dedication and sacrifice to get anywhere in the NFL, and I just wish this guy could get a championship.

6. I hate the fact that we are not taking advantage of a "down" year for the NFC west. The Rams (the LA freaking RAMS) are on top of our division. Seattle's O-line looks worse than ours (if that is even fathomable), and we have not taken advantage of that (see point #1 in terms of urgency)

The zone defenses when you have Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu are the most frustrating to me. WHY?

I agree, but Bettcher was most probably trying to prevent Dak from running and passing all over the place...and it backfired anyway. I am not condoning the decision, but Dak scored on a read option and on an easy sprint out to his right on the play he passed to Butler over Bethel for a TD--- both versus man coverage.

Of course, Battcher switched to zone and this time Dak flushes to his right wide open because Chandler Jones ran backwards into the flat and no one else had contain and then Dak hits Butler deep up the sideline in the gray area between the under zone and the FS, who was Mathieu of all safeties.

The only way the Cardinals have a chance in zones is if Reddick and Dansby are sharp in the hook zones. They are the key. On one key 3rd down conversion versus the Cardinals' zone from Dak to Williams, for some inexplicable reason Dansby went opposite of where Williams was going (an easy drag route over the middle) and left Williams wide open. Dansby was headed away from his hook zone, with no other Cowboy in sight.

The other thing is, if you are going to play zones, you have to have cover 2 safeties who can take care of their deep halfs and intermediates...but Steve Keim still hasn't signed a legit FS. So, again, to resort to softly played zones was a real mistake.

I hate the fact that we are not good enough, yet we are not bad enough. Being a White Sox fan I barely watched them last year. They traded just about everybody on the team for a bunch of young prospects that were eventually brought up and are currently playing their asses off. They are fun to watch even when they lose.

This Cardinal team is a slow bunch of older guys at key positions. We should have done it last year but it's time to break up the gang and start over. I can accept losing if it's working toward a future. I could live with watching a guy like Kizer, Watson or Mahommes grow into the position ( and even allude a pass rusher once in a while). That was never going to happen because BA and his buddies are not planning to hang around thru a rebuild.

It has to happen next year. It appears we are going to have a lot of cap space next year. There are two ways to go.
Option 1.You either do everything possible to draft the best QB in college football then spend the money surrounding him with an offensive line and a couple of big wr's. Look what Dak Prescott did in Dallas last year with a VERY good o-line.

Option 2. Go after a guy like Kirk Cousins and go from there. However going this route ties up a bunch of salary cap and limits bolstering up other parts of the roster. That's one reason Russell Wilson has now become pedestrian. The money went to him and now their o-line is in shambles.

This league revolves around good qb's. We need a good young QB that can move out of harms way every once in a while to extend plays. Today's defense's are too fast to have a stationary QB.

I pray that when BA retires which should be at the end of this year, we do not hire Goodwin. We need to go younger and we need to get younger as a team.

I vote for Option 1. We have a bunch of compensatory picks that may allow us to do whatever it takes to get our guy. We'll have a bunch of cap space to put quality players around a young QB and a pretty good running back returning next year.

I agree. the time for half measures and band aids has past. we saw what retread qb's gets us,..a sniff at greatness...but failure none the less.
tying up half our available cap space in a FA QB is a mistake. Pick a guy in the draft then do what it takes to make sure you get your guy. Pick up a DE and WR in the draft along with another o-lineman,..then use the cap space to shore up the line.
a young coach may be a good idea too... but whatever the cost make sure we have a solid line coach to go with him.
cousins will go to SF next season and Jimmy G does not have enough tape to justify $26mil a year

I hate that BA's downfall will be his loyalty to underperforming coaches. Everything else (like Keim's roster selections, overpaid contracts, players screwing up) is just part of normal football, IMO.

Not holding your own coaches accountable can cost you your job.

It runs counter to the message of accountability he imparts to his players.

BA's unyielding stubbornness.

Aye aye. IMO, intelligence is nothing more than the ability to adapt to change. Not adapting to change at all and insisting you know best in light of obvious facts to the contrary, well...

The Bengals replaced the OC after the second week and they go out and score 24 points against GB. Huge change from 9 points the previous two games. My point is they made the change they needed to make. Arians would never do this.
