What play are you talking about with Bishop? Would like to see it.

I think at least 1 or 2 of Sowel's false starts where not his fault, could be wrong though. He is definitely on the bubble, but I don't think he will be getting cut. Starks started to look like old #75 out there on a few plays. He got burned badly on that spin move and a few other plays.

I think Bauman is has a chance as he played really well in the first preseason game. He just didn't have the people out there to help him. With Taylor, can he see the holes or is it every time he gets the ball, the line never gives him room? I can never figure that out.

The play starts about 10:20 left in the 4th quarter. He gets through the line pretty fast and controlled. Got in the backfield but whiffed the tackle. Straight shot A gap speed is something he may have.

That's two good games for Okafor. He is looking like the player I seen in college. I think he will be our strong side backer of the future.

I think the roster is, and has been, pretty much set even before these pre-season games. There's about 3-4 camp battles:
Starks vs. Sowell
Powell vs. Golden
Feely vs. Costanza
maybe last CB spot, I think they may be 1 DB spot down if they keep 6 WR's and 4 TE's, which I think they will.

The Texans put up 32 points on the Falcons tonight... Not sure what to make of that. Maybe nothing... Or?

About Peterson playing back in coverage. I don't think that it's his call. I'm guessing whether he's up (press) or back (off) is the call of the DC.

Thanks. I remembered about 10 minutes after I posted. My head was swimming looking at the names on the back of the jerseys in the 4th qtr. I kept thinking "who the hell is that?" and I'm usually pretty good at knowing. Bishop just slipped my mind. He did show at the very least he has good veteran instincts I thought.

I know! The entire second half I kept going "Who?"

We've talked about this roster the last couple of months and I was just scratching my head looking at all of the names I didn't recognize.

Here were a couple of my takeaways:

- Earl Watford is a better football player right now than Jonathan Cooper. As bad as Cooper looked last week, Watford looked impressive. It was a more run-oriented game plan, but Watford sought our people to hit, and stood up to the bull rush in the run game.

- Bruce Arians is going to get someone killed. I starting to wonder whether getting a TE matched up with a DE in pass pro is a bug or a feature of Arians' protection schemes. I get that you have to do something when teams bring inside pressure, but there has to be a better way.

- Ron Wolfley isn't worse than Hitler, but he might be worse than Goebbels. Putting him on TV really plays to his weaknesses. By the end of the game, my wife and I were imitating Wolfley's "color commentary" as the first couplet of various nursery rhymes.

- No, Deone Bucannon isn't going to be able to hang with top TEs one-on-one. He couldn't hang with Kyle Rudolph, who is just a step above Rob Housler on the scale of NFL-quality receiving TEs.

- Hurry back, John Abraham. No pressure whatsoever from the outside linebackers. Really, it's kind of embarrassing. I get that Matt Cassell has some old man wheels, but watching defensive film from this game should not be a comfortable experience.

Wolfey was getting old by the third period. He did have one good line that made us laugh. When talking about Dan Williams he said "you can't put one more pickle in that jar"

Deone was invisible most of the night. He was around the ball quite a bit but not making any big plays. Still learning the system or not as quick as we thought? You are right about covering TE's. Randolph was running free all through our backfield and Deone could not keep up with him.

This year will be addition by subtraction. Good players will be cut to make way for better players. No more scouring the waiver wire to plug holes after the fourth preseason game.

When in doubt, assume they are named Brown.

Agree with everything you say K9 but I do luv me some Ron Wolfley! Maybe it's just the tv gig but him & Pasch on the radio are pure greatness IMO.

How the hell are we lucky enough to have Pasch doing our games? I've wondered that for years!

The man concern I had with Buccanon was just as you say. While he had a good forty I just didn't see the speed in games at WSU, which is why I liked Calvin Pryor so much. He's a heat speaking missile!!!

I agree on Okafor, I think he is a player. He is not going to be the answer covering TE's, but is a solid pass rusher and run defender. He also looks the part, I think he used the time during his injury to add some muscle.

Jaron Brown shouldn't be cut. If the Cards think they can't keep him, we should be able to get a pick from someone.

I think Lindley and Feely have been outplayed pretty dramatically. I can't see keeping either of them at this point.

Minter is going to be important this year. The defense looks a lot better with him out there. I think Bishop could be OK, but he looked a little out of synch out there.

If McCann gets serious playing time at corner, the Cards will be getting torched.

I would like to see a little more from Buchannon, but the Cards are asking him to do a ton. Did I see him at LB out there?

Drew Stanton is one of the better backups in the league. I hope he doesn't have to play this year, but I certainly have more confidence this year than many others in the Cards backup.

When at full strength, I love our depth of talent at the 1's and 2's. I get worried when our starters are injured and our 3's are asked to step up. Big dropoff from 2 to 3.

Considering that Pasch regularly works with Wolfley and Bill Walton as his color commentators, I'm surprised he hasn't considered early retirement

I learned I love the extra point experiment. Raiders/Lions game was decided on a missed extra point.
