Cheese the Vikings play back east and in cold weather environments MUCH more than the Cards.

how so? They are guaranteed to play only two road games each year against teams who live in cold weather cities (Chi/GB) and if they play either of those teams early in the season (like they did the Pack in the first week), then they have no more games guaranteed against cold weather teams as we do. They have 8 games in a dome and 1 road game in a dome. We're play 8 home games in a dome and 1 road game in a dome and 1 road game up in Seattle which has nasty weather. That's one more game. Other than that, they're schedule is no different than ours as each team is rotated based on divisons, not regions.

And your missing the point if our team plays better in a dome then in a damn dome they should be playing.

eh, considering we're not gonna have home-field anyway, I don't think it's the worst thing in the world for the team to actually get used to playing outside, but I won't argue this point too much.

It was freakin cold I never said thats the reason we lost but it sure as hell didn't help.

again, I don't think it was cold - 59 degrees felt pretty good and I didn't see anyone bundled up in my section.

Ok cheese if you don't think its cold then it must not be cold right? Nearly everyone I saw (except for the few out of town idiots dressed in purple and no shirts on) was wearing jackets and it was cold and windy. And the vikings play in Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit and other eastern cities every year correct? The difference I am referring to is they are BUILT to play in the cold weather with a good Oline and great stable of RB's would you not agree? So the cards strength is what...passing the ball, which in a perfect dome environment is easier. So here again slowly for the few that aren't grasping the point, when its cold and windy and your a passing team that would play better in a controlled environment such as our dome, you don't open the roof. Even if you think its superstitious if the players feel like they have a better chance with it closed then close it! Its our home field and we should take any advantage we feel we can.

Can't we assume Minnesota would have actually prefered to play in their home environment - a dome? Their fans would have sounded even louder. We probably would have lost 45-14 if the roof were closed. There was not a monsoon going on Sunday. This complaining about the lack of concrete and steel overhead is a silly crutch. It's the team themselves that turned the nest into a litter box.

59 degrees isn't cold football weather where a power run game and defense comes into play

that is more applicable to rain, snow, high winds, etc ...... none of which were going on in the stadium

also detroit is in a dome

they play 2 outdoor games in potential cold weather cities each year - that's it in GB & Chi ........ in fact, that cold weather game in GB this year would of been too hot for the roof to be open by the league standards here in AZ

you can play in a city without playing in that element

it was -5 in st. paul yesterday with a wind chill of -27 ....... inside the metrodome it would of been comfy

I probably hate the cold worse than anybody and I was bundled under 4 layers, fearing the worse. It was comfortable. The roof being open had no bearing on the game and only a minor effect on crowd noise, I think.

The Vikings' 21 point blitz in the first 13 minutes, built on special teams play, Anquan Boldin's double-shank of our offense and Kurt Warner's early high throw, ripped the hearts and noise-making out of the crowd.

After that, they were in control of the game, doing what they do best. Running the ball, throwing only when they wanted to, into mostly single coverage on each receiver, and rushing the passer all-out, ignoring the run.

not to me. Just saying I didn't think it was that cold and from the looks of people around me, they didn't either. no need to get all snippy.

Detroit is a domed stadium and they don't play any difference schedule than most teams as far as the East coast in concerned. Who you play is dictated by how the divisions are rotated every year, not by your region. Again, the Cardinals play in one less bad weather road game than the Vikings do.

The difference I am referring to is they are BUILT to play in the cold weather with a good Oline and great stable of RB's would you not agree? but what if you don't think it was cold and windy? it was really nice in there as far as I was concerned. Just because you say so, doesn't make it so Nashman.

What wind? I sit in the thirtenth row and there was not a bit of wind. My three kids had on sweatshirts and were comfortable. Also when you say the players prefer it, since when is one player are whole team?
The stupid thing about this whole thing is it gives the players, and I guess some of you fans an easy out to blame the loss on the roof. As far as people selling their tickets, Arizona, California, Florida have been hit by the recession harder then most places. There are so many people who have lost their jobs it isn't funny. I hate the other fans being there and will give people crap for selling out, but if they are doing it to survive, who can blame them completely.

PS i want to move my seats to the home sideline, i found myself walking the whole game so the fat girl in the ticket next to me would stop rubbing my arm with her flabs every time she moved. I was standing above the 50 on the home side and must say it is the only seat ive seen that i am jealous of so far.
