Kool Aid with a touch of vodka
Sorry, but I didn't see a dominant charger offense against the Cardinals. What I did see where two teams into there 2nd preseason game with a Cardinal team much better prepared than a Charger team. I'm not drinking the Cardinal kool-aid but I guess I do have some South Texas sweet tea running through my veins. Here are some points I would have not known if I had not watched the game and went soley off some of the posts:
1) Great coaching staff, our youngsters don't make mistakes and both the Cowboys and Chargers had penalities that reflect bad on their coaching staffs. Mac deserves a lot of credit.
2) Gilmore made an incrediable catch, add amazing to that as well
3) Lucas is a ball hawk and as he shown last year in the Giant game, not only can he find the ball but the endzone as well.
4) the Chargers 1st team hardly dominated our defense and had there share of inconsistency.
5) saw the game on the charger network and they where overly impressed with the Cardinals new attack style defense instead of read and react crap we as Cardinal fans had to put up with last year. I saw the Cowboy network in the first game and the Charger network unlike Babe Laughin'burg and crew gave the Cardinals some credit and there was no Cardinal bashing.
6) Mckinnon played a great game
7) The Cardinal special team had problems with the Charger returner (believe his name is Drayton Florence) but so did the Seahawks the week before. Chargers seem to have a special team star being born
8) Lastly on the negative side. I give up on Michael Stone. The guy can't cover and is horrible at tackling. Come on Graves, thrown the stone into the bottom of the sea and pick up Ryan McNeil.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with a majority of people who post here but didn't see a team struggle as bad as I thought I would see. The offense against the Chargers looked to be very conservative because it seems they are going to have to make a tough decision on the third back position and Mac wanted them to get their touches. I guess 5-11 seasons can make anyone overly critical and negative.
I like what I see so far... Blake will come around I'm sure and at least I didn't see him throw the traditional Jake the Mistake 1st quarter int.
