The Cards do indeed get Fitzgerald with the 3rd pick. Then at 33 a reciever like Michael Clayton or Rashaun Woods is there. Would you then listen to offers or just take who you want. If those are the two highest rated on your board would you take one of them and possibly trade B. Johnson for another 2nd? Or do you think Johnson is ready to COME ON this year.

4 wide............. I have been saying this for a while...... call me crazy....but if we take Fitz at #3 and rashaun woods is there at #33..... we take both based on the BPA strategy

Depends on who else is on our board.

If Strait, Poole or Carroll there - and Denny/Rod has them rated close to Woods or Clayton (who incidently is pegged just below Roy Williams on some boards) - we could very well draft a corner instead.

But if Clayton and Woods are there and clearly better than anyone else on the board, the Cards can either (a) attempt to trade down out of the pick or (b) bite the bullet and draft one of them.

But I think there will be a good probability that, at #33, there will be a group of prospects who are rated fairly close together - even though you have to rank one over another to fill out your board. So, for example, what you might wind up with at the #33-hole are players rated #18, #23, #28, #32, #33. But when you look at their over all grade, they might all be rated around 85 or 86 (out of 100).

According to Denny, when he was discussing how he used his draft board, he'd consider all 5 players as being in a virtual tie and then look to tie-breakers. (My guess is this is where a position you've already filled come into play and he might then opt to draft a CB or NT if they were rated close-to or the same as Clayton or Woods).

I am not pure BPA. I don't think you can ever go pure BPA, need always plays some role. I believe in BPA Clusters. I don't think a WR will be BPA at #33 but maybe in the BPA Cluster at #33.
I mean a QB could be BPA every round you can't take 7 QBs. Certain positions have less leeway BPA wise.

Now if a great prospect WR is available in a later round, he might just be too good to pass up. Then you might have to jump all over a guy!
