Going into his third season with the Cards, Amazing rookie year, dual knee injuries, one last year as I was corrected below, but came back strong. IMO still needs another year before the big money. Would probably get much more money if he waited and proved his worth this coming season. IMO, he should get 5mil up front with an incentive laden contract that could = 3mil a year for 5 years. What do you think?

I thought he only had the meniscus tear last year? Certainly nothing to sneeze at, but not as bad as an ACL or MCL. Considering what they are doing with ACL and MCL injuries to guys with much more wear and tear on there knees (RB and OL), I don't necessarily think it is a huge concern, but then i'm not an orthopedic doctor either.

That's not going to get it done.

6 years - $27M base that could reach $40M with incentives. THe deal would include a $5M SB this season and another $5M next season.

Actually it's worse. An ACL/MCL graft is easy. Where you run into problems is when you have cartlidge damage. Thats when you get the cronic pain, loose bodies and degenerative conditions that shorten guys careers like Fisher and Swann.

.....dual knee injuries last year........ nope, just one. His other knee operation was a full scale ACL in college.

Last years knee was serious, but nowhere near as serious as a full ACL/MCL. Those cost a player a year out of the game. Truth be known, Quan has every reason to expect a COMPLETE recovery. He still has "enough good cartlidge" remaining in both knees to be optimistic for no serious setbacks.

He was smart to come back quickly. If he starts the season healthy, he'll get his dough.

$10 million in signing bonus is about right, split as you say 5 and 5. The key is how much can be incentivized, e.g. make the pro-bowl get another 200k or so, etcetera. Good quality receivers are making in the range of 5-7 million per season. Q is a good quality receiver. 6 yrs X 7 million = 42 million. That is the top end. Part of that has to be incentivized obviously.

This year he is worth what his contract states he is worth. When is the last time you saw a player have a bad season and redo his contract down? He and T.O can take their threats elsewhere. He is not going anywhere. He cannot afford to sit for many reasons. We will have to deal with him soon enough as he has two years to go and they may be great or may be terrible. Only time will tell.

He's worth around 4 Mil a year. Could be 5-6 Mil if he reaches 1,000 yrds and 8Tds. Those are stats consistent with the best recievers in this league.

My guess is the Cards will give him a contract worth his "value" come week 10 of the season. They'll want to see that he's been at camp and producing on the field. If so, and he keeps his mouth shut about the contract, he'll get paid just as Adrian Willson did.
