Yeah. I think there is more to this story. Just doesn't add up. My speculation: Jackson showed up and was supposed to be with friends who were already in. He either lost his pass or for some reason was mistakenly not on the list. Maybe there was some hyper-vigilant gate-keeper. They ask him to stay while they go to get supervisors and he walks away. They accuse him of fleeing.

I almost guarantee it was something like this. I am not trying to apologize for Jackson, but I am really skeptical about this one.

Being charged with a felony is pretty severe. I will wait until I hear more as well.

That would explain the first part, but not the resisting arrest part. Either way, his attitude has taken a major dip in his time with the Suns.

I really hope you're right but it does not look that way to me.

There's definitely something off. He has no real charges other than the charges related to resisting. So what was the actual crime that put him in position to try to escape and resist? Anyone that is only charged with offenses related to resisting and fleeing should cause people to ask why there was an altercation at all and what was so serious about that altercation for it to be forgotten when it comes time to file charges.

The Suns have already picked up the option for Josh Jackson for the 2019-20 season.

I'm hoping the resting arrest charge will be dropped or reduced to a misdemeanor.

I have no idea what the real story is and regardless, it doesn't look good for Jackson, but he's right in that what we know right now doesn't make sense.

Eh I don’t know about that. Sounds like Jackson repeatedly tried to sneak in. Eventually security is going to call the police so they don’t have an altercation. Jackson hasn’t been known to make great decisions. We don’t know what happened from there other than handcuffs and some sort of “escape” (however that’s defined) was involved. Could be overzealous cops. Could be JJ being a dumb dumb. I guess we will see.

Yeah, I have a few questions but the one that makes no sense to me is that he was supposedly arrested and handcuffed. How'd he get away at that point?

The mental image of that isn’t flattering to either JJ or the arresting officer.

Yeah, no kidding. I suspect it was security, perhaps off duty cops, that detained him but even still it made me think of the old "escape" movies where the cops/guards use the escapte to shoot the guy in the back. Maybe he lipped off to them and although they knew they couldn't just shoot him, they could allow him to escape and seal his own fate. Just speculation obviously. But if it was straight up on-duty cops there's just no excuse for letting it happen.

For what is worth. It seems even more likely now Jackson will be traded.

.@Gambo987 says the Suns will attempt to trade Josh Jackson this offseason. Mentioned Knicks and Kings would be interested.

My guess is that we won't see Josh Jackson in a Suns uniform again. Really too bad. All the talent in the world, and originally a great attitude and hunger, all gone to waste here.

Bump...

With the Suns decade of illogical leadership, I wouldn't say he will be traded.

Just that he should be traded.

I'm calling it now. The Knicks get the #2 pick, and the Suns shoot themselves in the foot by gifting them Josh Jackson plus a future first rounder just to move up to draft Ja Morant. It will be renembered as a trade in the same vein as the trade for Chriss, or worse the trade for Knight.

You draft Garland you wont deal with Paul for what 4, 5 years. Hopefully Paul will retire by then.

We have a well established acrimonious relationship with Rich Paul so no way would I touch Garland. It won't take 4 or 5 years for Paul to place unreasonable demands on us and that's without considering Garland's injury risk. Remember this is an agent who has already twice (apparently) instructed his client to cut off all forms of communication with the front office coaching staff and teammates.

I'm hoping Jones handles things better then the old GM

I could see it happening, let's face it JJ isn't going to have a lot of suitors and anything past Barrett at 3 looks like a huge value drop-off. And it might (MIGHT) end up as bad or worse as the Chriss or Knight trades. Might not though. I wouldn't do it as I'm hopeful but not sold on Ja and I'm hesitant to give up on Josh. But by the time the draft is held we (our front office) should know a lot more about his potential in the NBA. If we still make the trade at that point I'll feel pretty good about it.

If it's the Bucks pick and Jackson to get Morant I think the Suns should seriously consider moving up.

The big if for me, the Suns need to keep Oubre.

That is a ridiculous haul for a player who really has about as good of a chance of panning out as a starting point guard as Okobo and Melton and who basically brings the same skill set to the table...

Me too but it would be tough to have a professional relationship with someone willing to do things the way Paul does. Regardless, I'm off the board with Garland due to his injury history alone.

The Bucks pick isn't worth much more than a 2nd rounder and neither is Josh right now. The problem isn't the value we'd be giving up, that's almost meaningless, the issue lies with the value of Morant and that remains to be seen.
