I am not saying that Dockett played a good game because he didnt but watch the late hit. He was in mid flight as the arm went forward.

Anyway, I am still a fan of Dockett's. Most of the time he is double teamed and one can only do so much. But do tell me, are Watson or Moore better off of a double team?

I think that's a misperception I saw him doubled a couple of times in the game but by and large I think SF blocked him the same way everyone else does, single. Seems to me that he's one of the worst at overpursuing or in many cases simply taking himself out of plays. They influence him one way, he bites, and they shove him that way as the runner cuts into the hole he vacated, happens a lot.

Did you see that Terdell Sands guy last night for Oakland? 6'7" 335, 27 years old, 4th year playing after 2 years of not playing but on the PS for KC. He had EIGHT tackles last night, repeatedly he fought off the block and then jumped to the other side and nailed the runner. I realize he's bigger than Dockett but he was doing precisely what Dockett doesn't do, look for the ball and play it. Darnell just starts moving whatever way they influence him like it never occurs to him they WANT me going this way for a reason?

I liked Dockett during his rookie year but believe he is stuck at the rookie level showing no progress. I think Moore shows more in his brief stints last year than what Dockett has (or has not) in last two years.

Denny really needs to sit him down. I would like to see Clancy at UT and Moore at NT.

Isn't Dockett the one who proclaimed the Cardinals would win 6 or 7 games this year improving from last season?

I know you wanna be safe and all when making predictions, but I don't think the team with all the momentum of the new stadium and the Edge signing was prepard to be low-balled like that. lol

Thanks Russ, I'm going to keep my eye on him in the next game. I definitely want to see him keep improving and have him make big plays. But if the guy is taking off plays, then that's just not good enough.

I just don't think he gets that being in the backfield is not always the goal. If they influence you to go right, and you wind up 5 yards in the backfield BEHIND the runner who went left, what did you accomplish?

I think when the play is over Darnell looks at where he is and if he's on the offensive side of the LOS, he thinks he did his job, whether he had any impact on the play or not. That's what I liked about Watson in the preseason, he pushed guys back, and he HELD his ground. I didn't like the pick at all but now I really can't wait to see the kid play in real games because of what I saw in preseason.

Very similar to my complaints about Wilson and Griffin making big hits 20 yards downfield and then woofing, I'd settle for a pass breakup now and then instead.

Two years ago it looked like we had a great draft class with Dansby in the 2nd round and Dockett in the 3rd.

But after promising rookie years, Dockett has regress and this year Karlos seems to have lost his drive. Does anyone know if Karlos is close to coming back?

And when he does get pushed out of the way I don't see the effort there to try and get back in the play. I can't say that I think he is Wendel Bryant lazy-thats not fair-but he certainly takes some plays off.

At the very least he needs a fire lit under his ass. Let's take a look at Watson in there and mix things up a bit.

Green on Sunday said he could return this week. But, Dansby said it's still "up in the air".

There’s a reason a guy with his athletic ability fell into round 3. He was the same at FSU; all motivated when he got there, but in semi-retirement by the time he graduated. He’ll play well next year (if he lasts that long) when there’s a chance of a free agent pay check.
