In all seriousness - you want to point fingers at new members of the board for bringing a new level of negativity - I sugegst you turn around and point those fingers at someone else - Rod Graves. Now I have said I won't go off on Graves anymore ans that's not what I'm doing. But his moves have done one thing - polarized this board to an extreme.

I mean, Tango, it's like you fail to realize that this off-season has been pretty wild - almost every single decision that has been made one could form an opinion and unlike years past, there has been a flurry of activity - sorry if some of us have formed opinions that are pretty much in accordance with a majority of the media which covers people (Oh -I forgot - all those people are complete idiots and they ahve no idea what they are saying or doing - even the guys who cover this team for our own local papers) - I'm sorry that we are seen as pessimists.

I'm also sorry I didn't post on this board before last season, when I thought that we would be good last year and with the impending overflow of cash in free agency coming, actually be very good this coming year. Well then, what has happened has happened and people can view it anyway they want (unless of course you don't agree with what's taken place - then you're an "idiot", "troll", "spoiled", "roadkill", "zit", "loser", "pessimist", and whatever other things the darksiders have been told - like we're not real fans - that one I love).

Besides, I also think you're dreaming if you think this board was happy-cheery land before we got here. During the season, people were at each other's necks - the whole Jake/Not Jake thing, coaching decisions and the like.

Those people that have been targeted by this thread have also made quite interesting contributions as well. There have been many threads where they go on and on and DIFFERENT viewpoints are brought up - making lively discussion. Honestly, would you rather just read threads where the first person said "I think we will win the division" and the rest pbasically just said "Me too!" Differences between people is what makes the world go round and we learn from one another.

Now I'm rambling and will end this - but just because one person was banned for lack of social ettiquette (not his football views) doesn't mean a witchunt should begin where those agreeing with his view are th targets. That's BS and a complete lack of social ettiquete to begin with.

How I got lumped in with kerouac is beyond me. I argued with the guy almost daily.

I don't think he should have been banned, and no amount of incomprehensible posts by this condescending DB is going to change that.

He pissed me off royally a few times, even calling me a liar (I subsequently showed him how wrong he was). Section 11 might remember that thread as would Russ Smith. Ever since then, I noticed that almost every one of his posts was somewhat inflammatory in nature (whether he realized it or not).

I will admit, I voted to ban him. Only because I thought the way he talked to Jim O was detestable, and that generally he never said anything positive.

he stinks and heres why:

being a fan is optional and is supposed to be fun.

if you're not having fun, you have the option to do something else.

kerouac was obviously not having fun as a cardinals fan. from his perspective, one can infer that being a cardinal's fan stunk. 99% of what he posted about the cardinals was negative.

so ask yourself. why did he continue to waste his time on this board? was it because he had a deep love and respect for the cardinals team? no!

if this guy was having fun, it was by mocking us loyal cards fans and mocking the organization. people like that do not deserve the privilege of being on this board.

Reading this brings up a ridiculous thought that I had last night on the john before I went to sleep.

What if he was a troll that came here and tricked us all into thinking he was a Cards fan and we were all total fools? I mean, Kerouac is a pretty intelligent guy, despite what some might say, and he might be clever enough to get away with it for a little while. I'm not saying that I believe this, but what if?

He seemed to have a negative take on everything, and even if I agreed with him, he seemed to often pee in someone's corn flakes (or step on toes if you prefer a more gentle figure of speech). I know I've bickered with quite a few people on here, but I always try to make ammends, and I try to keep my negative posts to a minimum.

That is such BS - You have no idea what was going on in kerouac's head - and I take offense to what you just said because your statement could be a blanket statement for a lot of people that aren't having fun as Cards fans right now. The fact that he's so passionate (although I guess his social skills needed work) about the team defenitely puts a spin on his posts and that is what probably irked a lot of people, but You have zero right to say what he was thinking and that he was having fun mocking Cards fans. Personally I think it's pretty weak as well to put something up here deflammatory like that about him when he can't respond.

If he himself is banned, any discussion of him should be also. I think that's only fair.

actually, I don't really think that is necessary krang.

you obviously like the team. its easy to see that by reading what you post. You don't support every move the cards make, but I think you try to look at the bright side of things and are generally hopeful.

you, along with many others, are what make this a good board.

As far as Kerouac is concerned, the reason that I think he was a true fan is the simple fact that the guy knew the Cardinals - he knew what was going on and he followed them. He wasn't just here to say we suck, blah, blah, blah - anyone can do that. What was lost in his posts due to his perceived social ineptitude was that in almost every one he made a logical (though maybe pessimistic) football argument. The guy knew Cards history and he was here a lot - basically - i don't think anyone in their right minds would come to troll a Cardinal board as much as he did (during the offseason no less). We have no rivals and sadly (and everyone knows) we are not taken seriously by anyone, pretty much outside of this board. He talked football in a way that irked som people, but the guy knew too much about the team past and present for me to believe he was just some troll who came on here to get his kicks.
