Highlights from last night's broadcast:

Sutton saying something along the lines of "I know we're not supposed to be biased but I'll admit that I'm rooting for Justin Upton." Yeah, he's not biased at all normally.

As well as the excuses they made for Reynolds on his should-have-been error that cost them some runs. "You can't tell in slow motion just how hard that ball is hit, it's a real tough play". Yeah, but he's a major league 3rd baseman, he should make it.

Also Matt Williams talking about how the ball Lopez booted in the 9th was a solid play because "he kept the ball in front of him, leaving the double play in tact." Yeah, or he could have made the play and got an out, but that's not important.

I guess we have to give Sutton credit for changing his style from day to day to suit his color commentator.

With Grace, he becomes juvenile. With Williams, he delves into the nuances of the game. With Joe, Sr., he gets into nostalgia.

But hopefully he'll become stronger and begin to influence them as much as they influence him.

Regarding Traber, here's my annual tribute to the man without a mind.

Yup, the time he told Thom Brennaman that he didn't ride the trolley cars in San Francisco (uh Jim, they're cable cars) because he stayed in his hotel room drinking. (Don't try that at home, kids.)

Jim Traber was great. Matt Williams is living on his years on the diamond. He's really not very good in the booth.

That's very astute. You nailed it. Sutton with Grace are fingernails on my chalkboard. Trabor was a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoyed his style and nonsense.

I really like Matt Williams in the booth but doubt I could stomach him for an entiree season. Thom Brennaman made me gag.
