I think people forget about his condition.Garrett is 2 years older and has a chronic foot condition, no? I think a 1st and a 2nd does it.
Bigger risk than one might think.

Why do you guys think Crosby would be cheaper?
They do, but not within 30 min of where I live...They don't have JITB in Colorado?
As in reigning defensive player of the year better.Garrett is older, but he's also better.
I fancy Washington. Plenty of cap space. Good young QB. Not a million miles from where he already is.
FWIW I'm not sure at 29 if he's purely looking at championship teams. He's also going to want a new deal, so getting paid is an important part.
If Cards are offering more than Washington would he still choose Washington? I'm not convinced.
I loveddd jack box shakes sourdough jackss yummyyyy petf munchies heh wink) lolmmm, I do miss Jack in the Box...
Totally forgot that Garrett and Murray are friends. Didn't realize that they have known each other since High School.I don't think he would come here but the people saying trade Murray for him are missing Kyler is the best chance we would have to get Garrett. They're good friends, they played together at A&M in 2015. If you remember after we beat the Browns a couple of years ago they met on the field after the game and were talking on camera, Kyler made some joke about Garrett putting him in his "graveyard."
IF Garrett were to come here I guarantee part of it would be his friendship with Kyler.
But I don't think he's coming here for the same reason most guys like that don't come here, they don't trust the ownership and front office to do everything it takes to win.
Yum.Jack in the Box greasy tacos. Mmm...*drools*
Productive, talented, an upgrade lolOn the other hand, Garrett doesn't seem like the type of player Monti is looking to acquire (veteran, expensive, higher trade value).
I can’t think of a position player who was 29 and a team had to trade a first for him much less multiple 1sts.Garrett is older, but he's also better.

I don't see a way that Miles gets traded for less than a 1st, and I see a scenario where Maxx gets traded for less than a first. Hell, I have been very wrong about trade value in the past, so who knows...

He’s a top 8 edge rusher. Garrett is arguably the best defensive player in the leagueWhy do you guys think Crosby would be cheaper?
Yes, I agree with this. I hope we at least try to get into the mix. What he's worth which is two 1sts and some mid rounds picks. Probably a 3rd and 5th.
Yeah, I'd pay that. Draft picks are overvalued.
Wherever you look at this trades 3-4 years later it's incredibly rare to see that the team had value from the draft picks they got.
Sure, that's all well and good. And, then Garrett is looking at a team with Clayton Tune as it's #1 QB and no viable alternative to get better at that position beyond a miracle. That's the situation he wants out of in Cleveland.Seriously, I would offer KM as part of the package. #16 this year, KM, and a sprinkle of later picks? In a heartbeat.
So, 15 years ago the Raiders traded a single first round pick for a 30 year old Richard Seymour. Maybe you are correct that 29 year old Myles Garrett will generate a historic level of compensation for his services. I do think it is more likely to be a single 1st round pick than two. Maybe the Browns can convince a team to give a conditional pick that gets to an additional 1st, but even that seems like a stretch. My guess is that a trade includes a 1st and a player as the main components.Richard Seymour was traded for pick #17.
The lack of historic comparisons is more to do with the scarcity of DPOY quality players ever being traded at that age. Usually they are already locked in with decent teams.
The comp really depends where he's going because a 1st that's top 15 is worth a lot more than one that's bottom 5.
If it's the Lions, Commanders, Chiefs etc it's surely going to be two 1st's plus more, especially as the Brown's don't want to trade.
If it's us, then more likely a single 1st plus a 2nd and more.
I think these are really far off so I am curious to see where this goes. Here are some of the proposals being suggested by pundits.
- Buffalo: Two first-round picks, DE A.J. Epenesa and CB Kaiir Elam, plus some pick swaps that favor Cleveland.
- Chicago: Two firsts and a second.
- Washington: Two firsts, OT Brandon Coleman and DT Daron Payne, with the Browns including two late-round picks.
