Had the first pick in the draft and selected Fitzgerald, then went after either Warner or Brunnel for a QB.

I know that the Cards need a franchise type QB but I'm not totally sold on Manning and the thought of having Boldin and Fitzgerald playing together really sounds scary.

I'd be all for it. Something tells me we win this weekend or next and don't get the #1 pick. I still say Losman or Rivers could be had in the 2nd round and with Fitzgerald and Boldin we'd instantly have one of the best WR combos in the nation.

Don't quit on Johnson. He'll have a solid year next year. Think about it: most rookies have a veteran to lean on for advice their first year. Johnson had Gilmore and Foster for veteran leadership, or lack their of. Johnson will be a good WR, especially when Quan gets double teamed every game next year. IF we get Fitzgerald, we should be in the three wideout formation every single play.

He isn't necessarily quiting on Johnson.

A wide receiver corp of Boldin, Fitzgerald, Johnson, and Gilmore as the #4, would be pretty good.

Especially with Philip Rivers as our QB. :D

It would be impressive and we would need a top OC since we would have to score 35+ per game to win :D

Give me D in round 1 and Rivers in round 2.

Then give me D alot after that...oh and maybe we could address D in FA.

I've been saying the same thing, with the exception of I'd rather it be Warner or Couch (especially Couch).....like I've said before, Mark Brunnel is 1,875 years old, not too much left in them old legs, I don't care what his off-season workout is like.

Boldin, Fitz, Johnson, Jones, Shipp (whoa)

Krang.........I also like Rivers and have seen a lot of him this year. I'd take a run at him in the third round if he was still available, but not before. Unless we go after one of the elite CB's in FA and land him, we have to address this positional need in round two. I would take Fitzgerald with our #1 (over Manning or Ben Roth*****)...........I quess I'm leaning towards McCown at this point over either of those two. I really think that Rivers could be had in the very early third round........while he has impressive stats and stature, his spirals look like Charles Barkley's golf swing and this will influence his position in the early rounds.

That's a lot of money to put into one position. Our offense would look great, but I'd fear that our defense might suffer. Also, you could have Moss, Rice, Harrison, and Owens are your WRs, but you need a good QB with a good line to get them the ball.

Hell, I just want a #1 pick who can contribute and perform like we expect them too.

My concern on Warner is he looked SO fragile in the opening loss to the Giants. Look at our OL, every 3rd pass AC's man is by him like he's bent over tying his shoe, put Warner back there and imagine all the fumbles and concussions. Warner looked like he aged 10 years in that first game, never seen a QB go from that good to that fragile so quickly.

Couch has the arm and the talent and he does seem to be a guy who's getting better, he's another guy who needs a good Qb coach because he was so raw out of UK. and he appears to have a fragile psyche, but I was very impressed with the way he played the last drive against Denver having gone well over a quarter without completing a pass, he didn't panic it's not his fault the DB fell down letting Lelie catch the ball and letting Denver kick the tying FG.

The only way I would want Kurt Warner here would be to hire him as QB coach or possibly OC.

I gotta agree - the guy just looks like he's completely lost it.
