I'd be surprised to see this Cards team put up 31 points on the Jets... Which means they probably will! :)

But, the Jets are #2 in the NFL in rush defense (yards per game), and only give up 2.9 years per attempt. Their weakness is clearly in the passing game on defense, which I can't say has been a particular strength of our team thus far this season - Fitz's performances notwithstanding. So, can Palmer & Co finally find their vibe? The Jets are better than average at getting to the QB, so our Guard issues, as well as Shipley and Hump will be greatly tested in this game.
In the end, I see a closer-than-should-be game, with the Cards pulling out a nail-biter... Like a 24-21 score...

The Jets pass defense is dead last in the NFL in DVOA. If Palmer can't get right against this defense, he's not getting right against any pass defense.

I know you know this... I think... But it's not all on Palmer. It would help if intended receivers would both run the right routes and catch the damn ball. And in this game, as I mentioned earlier, I would suspect he will be dealing with steady pressure...getting bounced around quite a bit. The Jets will get to him. Our guards, Shipley and Hump will be tested and candidly, other than Hump, I don't have a great deal of faith in what might happen with our guards and center...

if BA is smart he will not deviate too far from what we did with Stanton starting,...at least not in the first half.... get bowles in the mindset we are going to force our will on them with the ground game...our line run blocks well enough to make it convincing... then light them up starting with our second or third possession after the half.
we can run for more than 2.5 a clip on the jets... it also allows CP to gradually get into the flow of the game.

personally I would run a 60/40 pass/run until we are up and then start running the ball. Bowles is fixated on stopping the run and they can sure do it.

To be fair:

Week 1 -
Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs
J. Hill 9 31 3.4 1
G. Bernard 5 25 5 0

Week 2 -
Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs
L. McCoy 15 59 3.9 0 (who didnt do well until Arizona break out week)
T. Taylor 2 25 12.5 0

Week 3 -
Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs
S. Ware 20 75 3.8 0
C. West 3 3 1 0

Week 4 -
Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs
C. Michael 18 58 3.2 0
C. Spiller 2 12 6 0

Week 5 -
Rushing Car Yds Avg TDs
L. Bell 20 66 3.3 0
D. Williams 1 0 0 0

Add in that Bell in Week 5 had 9 catches for 88 yards.

Around the league, most people think it goes LeVeon Bell, then David Johnson, in terms of top NFL RBs. I think it's a very favorable matchup for DJ.

there is a fair chance the jets run defense stats look so good because their pass defense is bad.....facing this team I am pretty sure they are expecting us to come out and pass,...especially since we have Palmer back.

Would love to see #90 get some reps in this game, seeing how Stinson is injured and our other guys not named Campbell or Rucker not really setting the world on fire.

he averaged over 3 yards per carry... not stellar,... but hell we went years without having a back average that, lol. not to mention,...I like our guy better as well as our o-line better.

The playcalling will be splitted like always has been under arians 60/40
If we cant beat the jets better start focusing in the next draft

You like our Oline better missing two starters?

And Shipley... :(
Really don't think Shipey has been bad as advertised.

If anything, I think he's been the 2nd best OL after Iupati(Yes, even better than Veldheer) so far this season. Going strictly by eye-test.

You might be confused... I'm talking about AQ Shipley, the center for the AZ Cardinals... [emoji12]

When is your next eye Dr appointment? I can recommend a good optometrist. :)

Our starting guards are out so I have my concerns, maybe lots of stretch runs

How our interior line featuring a below average center and two backup guards can handle their beast DTs will be the key to the game (k9 wisely had 2 of those match ups in his top 3).. I don't see us scoring 31, or them scoring 17 for that matter

truth. which is why IMO we need to try and dominate the ground game.... we run a decent stretch and a running attack will not let those DT's go balls out against our weak center on their way to our immobile QB who will be...waiting,....waiting,....waiting, for John Brown to get open
