Last week, someone mentioned that Steppe's stock fell at one of the draft camp workouts. What are the specifics of his reason for dropping?

4 year player ( which some see as a negative ) . I like him better than Dickau and actually see him in the same class as Kirk Heinrich or some of the other taller good shooting point guards in the NBA.

If the knock is he is slow, does that matter in the slow it down offense of the NBA ?

I see him as a steal in the late 1st round. Go Zags.

Portland has enough interest in him to dump Stoudemire.

Wallyburger,

Seeing as how nbadraft.net does not list him in either round, if suns want him, they can probably get him as a free agent signing after the draft.

Portland wants to dump Stoudemire because he makes like 14+ million a year. Not because Dan Dickau is waiting in the wings. (He was added to the trade for salary reasons IIRC).

I mean his career averages are like 2.9 ppg, and .9 apg......

All on 37% shooting.

Not exactly awe inspiring numbers if you ask me. I mean, the kid couldn't even get playing time on the Hawks......

I didn't mean to imply that Portland was saying Dickau was better. It definitely is the money differential and Soudemire's private life ( major pothead ) even by NBA standards.

Atlanta was all screwed up and I would never say Dickau got a chance. Actually Terry Stotts wanted to give Dan much more playing time, but was vetoed from above to play Jason Terry at point where he doesn't belong.
