What's your (realistic) ideal scenario for Wednesday?

4. (unrealistic) Somehow nab Sene and Sefolosha.

That is unrealistic. Unless the Suns move up past the Jazz (14), Sene will be gone. Doesn't make sense for the Jazz at all, but since when have their picks made sense?

it's probably unrealistic that they get both players, but it's far from a sure thing that the Utah Jazz take him with #14. I'm sure there are players higher on their draft board that have a realistic chance of dropping to that point in the draft.

Ideal, but realistic.

We try to trade up but cannot find takers. Rodriguez or Rondo drop and we pick one or the other at 21. We take Boone at 27 and call it a day.

Likely,

Everyone we want is taken so we take someone at 21 we don't really want but might make the team. We trade #27 for a future #2 and some nameless training camp dropout.

i'm going to say ditto on both accounts.

i am a tremendous fan of rondo. i was a huge fan of boone last year. i think both could excel in the suns' system.

but unfortunately i see the "likely" category coming true. i'm scared of the draft w/o brian. there. i said it.

1) My "ideal scenario" is: that the suns trade Barbosa and the two picks for an earlier pick and select Randy Foy, the best guard in the draft. Foy is a complete stud, and can play backup point and the 2 position right away and create his own shot better than any guard in the draft. Foy is also a much more physical defender than Barbs at the '2'. Jay Bilas(former pro, current analyst) compares Foy to Billups as a physical guard, but with better ability to create his own shot. Unlike Billups, Foy has great hops to shoot over big guys, and his dribble penetration is excellent.

2) great scenario: suns trade the picks and maybe Jones to get a shot at Ronnie Brewer, who may be the most versatile big guard in the draft after Brandon Roy. Brewers' only downside for the suns is his 3pt shooting, which is lacking. Having a big guy like TT around, who can drill the 3, makes Brewers 3pt deficiencies less of a concern at the 2,3 positions. Brewer will be great on the break and finishing and a good penetrator in the half court. The suns defense against guards is suspect due to size and athleticism limitations of the current roster. Brewer is rated as more athletic than Joe Johnson(better footspeed and hops), but clearly not as good a shooter, but a better finisher. He should be a better defender than Joe was/is.

3) OK scenario 1: suns do not move up and they select shannon Brown at 21. Brown could address some of the suns needs for a physical combo guard, both defensively and offensively. Brown is a strong '2', physically, and could absorb some of the physicality at the '2' when Raja goes to the bench.

4) OK scenario 2: suns get sergio rodriquez using the 21 pick. I love sergios passing and ball handling skills, but I am concerned that he also is a defensive liability, along with Nash, Barbs, House, at the guard position. If the suns take sergio, they must find another guard who can defend to prevent the posting up of Nash, sergio and Barbs in the playoffs by the likes of the clippers and Lakers 6'6" + guards.

I wouldnt even touch the suns frontcourt, it already may be the best anyway with amare and KT returning.

The guard's names in this draft class are all too similar......Randy Foye, Brandon Roy, Ronnie Brewer, Rodney Carney. It's been a little hard for me to keep them straight except that they'll probably all be drafted before we have a pick unless we trade up. It reminds me of the year Jason Richardson & Richard Jefferson came into the NBA.

That being said, I'd like to trade up (#27 & James Jones to get a pick in 10-13) to get Ronnie Brewer and then hope Sergio Rodriquez falls to #21. If Sergio's not there then possibly Rondo, Farmar or Shannon Brown (probably in that order).

I still laugh about when the NFL had Richard Stanley and Stanley Richard. I think they both played safety too.

There's also Allen Ray. Just be thankful there's no one named Jason Williams in this draft.

I really wouldn't mind any of those scenarios except maybe #4. I'm not sold on Sergio although if the Phoenix Suns take him I guess I'll trust that they know what they're doing since I haven't seen a lot of video on him. I really like Foy and Roy. As much as I like brewer I would probably take either of those guys before him.

BC is going to make a huge mistake drafting whatever his name is from Europe #1. I think we'll be fine without him.
