Go SUNS Go
No one here will no the answer yet. However, last I heard they were supposed to release the participating theaters around the end of September early october. So I'm hoping that everyone keeps an eye open for info and posts it the moment you see it. I plan to jump on tickets right away. I'm hoping that the Arclight Cinema or Mann's Chinese will be playing it.
Arclight preferably because seats are reserved on all shows. That means no waiting in line to get a good seat. Also they've designed the theaters so that there are no bad seats. And they have a nice bar and cafe in the lobby so you can go get plastered before the show. (CHAPLIN, I hope you're a member. It's FREE and It's also the best theater in town. Lots of great film series with Q&A's with directors after the shows. In fact they'll be doing the Usual Suspects in a couple of weeks with the director. Great stuff. Egyptian is great for that as well)
I don't know if I have what it takes to sit through 12 hours worth of film in one sitting but I'd sure as hell like to try. On Thursday Dec. 17th the first 2 films will be re-released with added scenes. They'll run about 220 minutes each and then Return of the King will come on at midnight. That means you'll get out of the theater around 4am in the morning. Talk about exhausting. But I think it would be pretty damn cool.
So if anyone hears anything about Ring Marathon tickets going on sale please report it here ASAP.
