It's almost time, baseball fans.
Opening Day for the 2025 MLB season is right around the corner, with 28 of 30 teams in action, with the Rays and Rockies waiting one extra day to get their season underway.
Here's what you need to know about when the 2025 season begins for each organization, including when and where the Yankees and Mets play their first series of the regular season.
Technically, the regular season began last week when the Dodgers and Cubs played a two-game set at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on Tuesday, March 18 and Wednesday, March 19.
The Dodgers, reigning World Series champions, were victorious in both games, including their two-way superstar and 2024 National League MVP Shohei Ohtani hitting a solo homer in his return to his home country.
Opening Day is slated for Thursday, March 27 with all but two teams taking the field. The Rockies and Rays start their regular season a day later on Friday, March 28.
The Yankees open the regular season in the Bronx with a six-game homestand against National League opponents, starting with a three-game set versus the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday, March 27 to Sunday, March 30, followed by another three-game series versus the Arizona Diamondbacks from Tuesday, April 1 to Thursday, April 3.
First pitch for Yankees-Brewers this Thursday will be at 3 p.m. and televised on ESPN and streaming on ESPN+.
Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon will look to build off a career year from a season ago as he makes his first Opening Day start in pinstripes.
Brewers ace Freddy Peralta will start opposite Rodon and is facing the Yankees for the first time in his career.
The Mets start their 2025 season with a six-game road trip, beginning with Opening Day against the Houston Astros for a three-game series from Thursday, March 27 to Saturday, March 29. The Mets will then head to South Beach to take on the Miami Marlins from Monday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 2.
Clay Holmes, who left the Yankees to sign with the Mets this offseason, has converted from closer to starter as he gets the nod for the Opening Day start in Houston.
There's no doubt the Mets will have their hands full against Astros ace Framber Valdez, who's coming off of a 15-win season and posted the fifth-best ERA in baseball in 2024 at 2.91 in 28 starts.
Mets' new superstar Juan Soto will make his debut in front of the Citi Field fans for the first time on Friday, April 4, when the club faces the Toronto Blue Jays in their home opener.
