yes Leinart to Quan TD

I remember I was SO psyched up after that play.

Friggin' Rackers :bang:

Regardless, Sando has a point. Jeez, I have no idea what got into Warner after this point in time, because he sucked, and was rightly replaced by Leinart during this season.

Well, if we lose the next two games and Kurt continues his horrific play, this will be the worst decision of the Denny Green era. At 1-4 or 1-5 going to Matt is tantamout to giving up on the season. At 1-2 going to Matt is trying to salvage the season.

I think it is very likely we lose our next three games...I'd rather lose those three games with Leinart at the helm than Kurt, because after those losses we'd have a shot at Leinart improving and getting comfortable in the offense for a late season run at 8-8 or 9-7. IF, and I do say IF, Kurt leads us to three losses, there is nothing to build from and the team will have already imploded.

I'd LOVE for Kurt to play lights out in Atlanta and do well, keeping Matt on the bench for the rest of the year but I've come to the opinion that it won't happen. He's a shell of what he once was and is turnover prone and is terrible at crucial junctures in games.

Prove me wrong Kurt...the season depends on it now.

I remember those dark days...man. Whis came in, changed this system around and Kurt worked his tail off in the offseason and came in in great shape...night and day from that last season under Denny.

This really tells me that both Warner and Leinart are somewhat of system QBs. Warner dominated with the Rams when Martz was OC. When he became the HC, Warner was still very good but started to tail off (and injuries piled up). Then he goes to play for Coughlin and is average. Come to play under Dennis Green who was known as an offensive guru and couldn't succeed. Then Whiz takes over and he turns into a hall of famer.

I really believe Whiz has tricks up his sleeve and can turn Matt into a winner. Maybe he won't put up the all NFL numbers Warner did, but I think Whiz knows how to put his players in a position to succeed. Matt is talented. The talents he had that made him a 5 star recruit, a Heisman winner, and a top draft pick haven't disappeared they have just gone into hiding.

Here's one of Mitch endorsing Matty

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/2006-cardinals-playoff-push-starts-tomorrow-79334.html

Here's a good one about Warner being named the starter for the Falcons game (last game before he was replaced)

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/espn-reports-cards-change-mind-78764.html

Why did you have to bring that up? :D

What a nightmare that was. Cards lost 32-10 and their only TD was Adub's 99 yard INT return. Warner fumbled once and the Cards recovered. Then he threw a pick that was returned for a TD. Then he fumbled again recovered by the Falcons who scored on a 78 yard run on the next play.

So Leinart comes in and fumbles on his second play, recovered by Atlanta. Then Matt finally puts the Cards out of their misery by throwing an INT.

:(

What do all these old threads really tell us? What a terrific job CKW has done as HC of the Arizona Cardinals.

Awesome!

LOL Rackers with the missed FG....again.

I'm glad he's gone. Crazy to read through that thread and all the love Matty was getting.

Hopefully he gets that mojo back because from what Somers said, he is playing tentative. Afarid to make a mistake and after looking at all the dump offs he did last game, I can't counter that just yet.

I'm hoping he pushes it down the field this next game to take some heat off of Beanie and Tim. The OL needs to play their part too.

Then Rackers AGAIN missed a gamewinner the following week, in the MNF debacle...same situation...Toast brings the team back upfield after the horrific punt return, sets up for a game winner and Rackers shanks it. First two starts, two bad shanks.

I still look back to those games as proof that Toast can lead a team, can handle the pressure and can play. He's started 17 games in his career, and three of them off the top of my head were losses snatched from the jaws of victory...those two by Rackers and the 99 yard drive the D gave up to VY last season.

We can win with Toast...hell, we may excel with Toast. However, I'm already cringing for the boos and calls for his head that are inevitably going to come this year at some point, simply because he will play like a human QB and not like our best memories of Kurt (not our worst memories, because we've all forgotten those and they never happened.)

Kurt's a HOFer! He never played poorly!! Ever! The first incompletion and Toast will wish he had ear-plugs in his ears!!!

I remember the chants for Matt when Kurt was having a bad game. And I cant help but think those chants will be started against Matt when he has a bad game. That is going to suck!!

I think Matt will be OK. He just went awry because of his immaturity. He should be OK now that he has seen how to prepare and play behind Warner.

Somehow I can't imagine the crowd chanting 'Derek, Derek'.

Chants for the 3rd string QB, whoever it turns out to be would be even more moronic

It might be a good thing the first game is on the road so there won't be boos at his inevitable mistakes

Btw am watching Atl/Pats...Ryan threw nothing but short slants and dumpoffs. Only scored FG on first drive. He sucks...lol

If Matt is mentally tough as he says he is, this is a non-issue. Kurt was able to rebound from 3-4 years of negative publicity and have one of the best renaissance careers ever.

For about the same time, Matty has been lambasted by the media and the fans. Almost similar situations.
