Dallas game 1998 i believe...

We trailed 28-0 at half, came back and tied it up and lost in the last seconds. They had to stop the post game radio show because too many people dropped fbombs on the air.

Not against us. We got blown out by the Packers 44-16 or something in the playoffs that shortened season.

the packers were not even the playoffs in the 80's. i pretty sure len dickey was the qb for the packers then. to my knowledge dickey never took the packers to the playoffs. i do remeber the butts(#60) blocked a fg to kick the cardinals out of the playoffs. that was in 82 or 83. whenever the strike season was.

Easy

Neil O'Dounaghue (sp?) missing a field goal against the Redskins back in the 80's in a game that meant something, it was for the division and the playoffs.

they never tied it up - they were down 35-28 and had the ball at the 5 yard line and then there was the infamous "no call" PI crap on Rob Moore who was clearly interfered with by the Cowboys DB.

we got them in the end.

that's why I didn't list that Cowboy loss. We got em in the playoffs where it hurt them the most. One of the few times the Cardinals got sweet revenge.

Vikings game, 1997. I never thought I'd see a more unbeleivable snatching defeat from the jaws of victory ever. Until last night. I would've bet my house and my parent's house that we'd win with forcing six turnovers and holding their offense to three points.

this is the one i was going to put up. i was on the other side of the stadium but it was still SO OBVIOUS that moore was interfered with. we had em beat!

does anybody have that picture of the dallas guy mauling moore in the end zone? it's an unbelievable no-call when you see the picture again!

Last night was brutal. I was in a Chilis and I had to deal with a bunch of stupid bandwagon ass Bear fans. When we had a 20 point lead I felt confident enough to talk some crap, well... yeah we all knew what heppend next.

It's pretty damn sad when there are more out of state fans in your own state than local fans.

Probably a more frustrating loss in my estimation. It was mid-December 1984. I was there with my 6 yr old nephew & the Skins led like 23-3 at the half. Whoever won wins the division, loser goes home. Lomax hit Green with a bomb & we scratch ourselves into the lead 27-26 with about 4 minutes to go. Then the DC officiating took over. On consecutive 4th & long situations, we were penalized. Once for a phantom pass interference call & then EJ Junior was flagged for unnecessary roughness when he sacked Theismann on a 4th & forever play. Moseby kicked a 40+ yarder to give the Skins a 29-27 lead. The Cardinals had about 45 seconds & no timeouts, yet Lomax was able to get us close enough. It was frantic as the field goal team ran out as the clock looked like it would expire. O'Donoghue couldn't get set & just had to run up & kick it. It was a 52 yd attempt on a very cold day. It was long enough, but just wide to the right. The Skins fans left me alone because they knew I probably mad enough to kill someone. I remember the Skins fans around me admitting that we got jobbed. Even though he won a Super Bowl, the Skins fans never liked Theismann.

That was my pick also.
It was a 2 page picture in Sports Illustrated

Anyone remember the Tampa somerault? I don't remember the year exactly... 94ish??

The TB running back rolled over virtually the entire Cards D - that was piled up - and never touched the ground. Ran all the way to the endzone.

That was the Cards first season in AZ I believe. The RB was Wilder? or something like that...such wonderful memories :(

I honestly can point to that game as the one example when a loss turned around a season though. The offense changed after that game, Jake looked like a good QB for that last half of the season and the team had confidence.

I was so POed walking out of that stadium surrounded by scumbag Cowboy fans but I did feel a little bit of hope because too many times with previous Cardinal teams(and since) we saw them give up after being down 3 TDs.

I remember actually yelling at the Cowboys fans after that game about how they knew we had them and they better not play us again. Of course, they laughed their butts off at the idea of us in the playoffs. And, for once, it actually came to pass and we truly got the last laugh.

Hopefully, last night will be that sort of loss for us. A rallying point instead of a backbreaker.

Sunday September 24th 2006.

1:46 to go Cards ball on the Ram 18 and Warner fumbles away the future.

If the Cards go on to win that game they become a team that caught a magical break to win a game. A team of Destiny?

A new image for the Cards in their new stadium with all their new fans and their new celebrity QB of the future on the sidelines.

Instead Warner drops the ball and Arizona goes right back to being the "same old Cardinals."
