Here’s the issue… Booker is our Nance. He’s going to fetch the best return of any of them and that’s why he’s also got to go. There is no rebuilding around Booker that leads us anywhere but play-in game status and that is pointless, IMO.

IMO, James Jones ascribes to the Miami philosophy in always trying to contend. A complete rebuild can last a decade or longer and there is no guarantee we won't be wandering in the desert for another 40 years.

I'd try to reload with Booker as he is young enough to see if we can get the right supporting cast around him similar to our finals run.

I do agree, that Booker can't be a sole #1 on a true title contender, but he could be part of a 2004 Detroit Pistons type team. This team has those types of talented players, but the pieces don't fit as well and we lack to toughness.

No, thank you. Another overpaid SG? Don't we have two of this kind already?

Without KD we suck heavily, all our picks get much more valuable and go away at the same time which makes rebuilding longer by years.

I don’t actually want Jalen Green who would likely be flipped to another team. Van Vleet makes sense because of salary but that leaves Houston w/o a PG.

Agreed. I also would trade Booker because his value is the highest among big 3, Durant would net much less than we traded for him while Beal is very close to untradeable.

Thompson, Sheppard, Green and Adams and all Suns picks including the 2025 swap of HOU pick to PHO pick for Booker.

Problem is the Rockets would lose too much depth.
Other problem is the Rockets don’t need a SG.

I'd lean that way too if we weren't in such dire straits asset wise. I favor trading Devin less because I've lost confidence in him and more because keeping him would just be using up his mid and late career years while surrounding him with a roster of lesser draft picks and castoffs. Consider that we aren't going to get back for KD anything near what we gave up and Beal isn't going to net us much, same with Nurkic (if we can even break even on those guys).

This was also posted on the Suns 2024-25 season discussion thread.

Jimmy Butler is open to being traded to Phoenix.

We were headed down the path of building a young team with a decade plus of contending ahead of it before it was blown up to add KD, which was incredibly shortsighted and a huge mistake. I don't trust the architects of that deal to right the ship now, almost 2 years later. Ishbia isn't going to sell but he can take a step back from the process afterd giving his blessing to make it happen. Make a deal now to recoup our picks, KD to Houston for our picks, Jabari Smith, Adams, and Brooks. I don't want Brooks and ideally he's sent somewhere else to bring in another pick. Let JJ know he's gone at seasons end, he's endorsed the KD trade too much to be retained whether he built it or not and he's also failed to make a competitive team around KD and Book. Bring someone in this off-season to oversee the reconstruction.

Tell Beal we'd like to trade him and get a list of teams he'd go to. Shop him to whoever gives up the most usable players in return.

I would trade all 3 for as much picks and young talent as possible. Burn it all down and start fresh.

By this point I am so use to rebuilding.. it was a nice exciting couple of season we had..

beal isn't going anywhere this year unless he wants to - i don't see him wanting to - and i don't see any teams giving us enough to make it worth while with less fragile scorers being available - unless our intention is to take the aprons off and throw them at stern

booker isn't going any where but for some reason it's talked about half ass seriously every year - probably will retire a sun or be here till his 30s - this his his city

kd - who knows - but he likes book and he likes it here - knows he has power here (just ask vogel) and word is he'll be extended (thankfully)

point is - rebuilding means sucking and ishbia won't have suckage - he's got too much money to throw at it and he 100% will - he wants the playoffs and sell outs at footprint - and he'll get'em

im just going to enjoy the show - because imo the main cast isn't going any damn where

I agree that's almost definitely the way things will go, for a few years anyway. I just disagree with those that think it's the best option.

I think that Jalen Green easily can be upgraded and that's what would happen in this deal by much.

My mega deal had the Rockets keeping Green as the microwave bench but I’d take him back if it meant picks and one of their other young wings coming back.
