The Lipscomb basketball team clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament by beating North Alabama in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament on March 9, earning the league's automatic berth.

The Bisons (25-9) had momentum going into the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will carry that momentum into the NCAA tournament having won 11 of their last 12 games. The Bisons will learn their seeding for the NCAA tournament on Selection Sunday (5 p.m. CT, CBS).

Here's where Lipscomb stands in the latest March Madness projections.

Lipscomb basketball projected as a No. 14​


ESPN's Joe Lundardi has the Bisons as a 13 seed in the West set to play No. 4 seed Wisconsin in Seattle. The No. 1 seed in the West, according to Lunardi, is Florida.

Sports Illustrated also has Lipscomb in the Midwest, but as a 13 seed playing 4 seed Wisconsin. Sports Illustrated also has Houston as the No. 1 seed in the Midwest.

CBS' Jerry Palm has Lipscomb in the East as a No. 13 seed playing 4-seed Maryland. Duke is the No. 1 seed.

Lipscomb's NCAA tournament resume​


Lipscomb has been in the top-100 in the NET most of the season and is currently No. 84. That's the Bisons' highest rank ever.

The Bisons' best win came at Chattanooga 80-62 on Dec. 3. Chattanooga is No. 115 in the Net. The Bisons also beat Wofford (78-69), which is the NET top 150.

Lipscomb lost to Kentucky 97-68 and Arkansas 76-60.

Lipscomb basketball's NCAA tournament history​


This is Lipscomb's second time to earn an NCAA tournament berth since moving from the NAIA to NCAA Division I in 2003.

The Bisons' first NCAA tournament berth came in 2017-18 after winning the conference tournament. Lipscomb was a No. 15 seed and lost to No. 2 seed North Carolina 84-66.

Lipscomb has also played twice in the National Invitation Tournament and advanced to the championship in 2019.
