Yup. Now I'm stressing offensive depth though. Snyder's been playing hurt since preseason, and the coaching staff apparently has a beef with Jeremy Bridges for some reason. We're looking at sub-Marcel Shipp depth behind Ryan Williams at RB, our TEs are all injured right when we realized that they were allowed on the field...

trust me, I worry about the same thing with the O-line and RB corps, but just the fact that we have one entire side of the ball loaded is ridiculous to this fan who never saw us actually build the "belly of the beast" on any side of the ball.

You're looking at it the wrong way with Housler IMO. Look at the rate of production from 0 to 1 to 2 catches. 3 games from now he's going to catch 16 passes and then you'll have to be nice to him. :D

What bugged me about Housler in the Eagles game was the damn missed block on the 3rd down run by Williams. Those are the things that keep him from getting more snaps. It's really obvious that teams don't worry about King or Heap downfield and they at least are aware Housler has downfield speed(they don't scheme for him I admit).

If Seattle had somehow rallied in that game his missed block would have been a huge play.

Philly, but yeah. I'm more confident from watching film in having Early Doucet out there on a running play than Rob Housler. Housler's problem wasn't one of technique--it was one of effort. He looked like he was trying to do-si-do with the defender on that play.

I've seen Doucet straight-out cream some fools on crack-back blocks.

Yep he did the one thing you can't do there which was let his man get inside of him. All he had to do was wall the guy off and Williams has a perfect lane for a big play but his man got inside of him and forced Ryan to cut it back earlier.

The thing of course is you can't play run play pass play with a speedy TE or it's a dead giveaway to the defense. He has to get to where he can block well enough to be on the field on run plays.

I hear you. Every team has holes somewhere, but the Cards have seemingly always had big holes one side of the line or another, usually both sides. It is nice to finally see some progress in that regard.

The other thing about the D is we're not glaringly about to fall off a cliff. We're not an old defense, and we don't have a lot of guys who are about to hit FA and get huge raises.

Wilson and Lenon are probably the closest to the end of their careers then Dockett and Rhodes(and both those guys should have several good years left).

We're signing guys to new deals at the right time and we should be able to keep the core of the defense together while adding in new guys as others age.

yup. arguably our best three players on D are all REALLY young and signed for years on end. hell, even our fifth best player with Acho is really young. the best thing they can do is keep doing what they did with Washington, extending guy you love early to solid contracts so they don't break the bank getting closer to FA. Would have liked to have seen this done with Calais before the franchise tag, but the deal got done regardless and it's not always going to go the way you want it to. But it sure does look like it's going the way WE'VE wanted it to for years and the FO deserves major kudos for making that happen.

Agree. Duckjake wrote about how some of these comments are childish but I always thought Mitch's continued whining of Whiz was childish. Now that the Cards are 3-0, her can't complain so he stays quiet instead of praising Whiz.

Also, do some of you really believe Skelton was going to rally the Cards against Seattle? He was playing horribly that second half, he had no confidence and even some here were saying to bring in Kolb in the game thread. In my opinion, the team looked lost and needed some kind of boost.

The team is undefeated and looking like a playoff team. I will support the entire team and if Skelton is the starter in a few weeks, I will be supporting him and the rest of the guys, including Whiz. It could be a lot worse, we could be Brown fans. Then the b*tching would be warranted. :)

Finally, like everyone else, I enjoy reading Mitch's posts. I might not agree with him all the time, but that is what makes a great board. If everyone agreed, it sure would be a boring forum. Could you imagine if everyone agreed on the P&R forum.

Skelton did that in several games last season that the Cardinals won. A couple they lost as well. So no I don't think it impossible that the Cards would have won the game with Double Deuce at QB.

There is plenty to complain about our team right now. The offense is ranked 31st in total yards and has had really only one series where they ran the ball effectively all year, are averaging 2.8 yards per run and can barely manage 180 yards per game passing. Once they get past the favorable home schedule they could collapse and not win another game all year. In fact they will probably have real problems with the short week game in St.Louis.

OK hope this helps. You guys keep praising everyone on the team and I'm going to have to do a lot typing between now and Sunday to keep ya'll from jinxing this. You bunch of Memo Paris clones.

Not to mention that Skelton had gotten off the schneid on that very drive by completing a 13-yard pass on first down to Andre Roberts. Despite everything that had happened on previous series, I was confident that the game was in the Cards' control when Skelton came on the field for that drive.

I wish I was cool enough that even people who disagree with me can't wait until I post.

This thread is like the Howard Stern movie.

Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.

Corporate Guy: How can that be?

Researcher: Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."

Corporate Guy: Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?

Researcher: Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.
Corporate Guy: But... if they hate him, why do they listen?

Researcher: Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."

...If we weren't looking at a terrible Miami offense this week, I might be really worried.

I thought Bridges was out with an injury?

You dont find it odd that when we finally have a complete game from beginning to end with almost nothing negative that can be complained about that he is all of a sudden a ghost with nothing to say? Yet he is clearly logging in and reading?

I sure do??

Hahaha, I didn't know he was logging in and reading. I guess I missed that.

I should've posted that. It would have been funny. I've been on the board, did my weekly film breakdown, etc., etc. Phrazbit started a thread in the aftermath of the game with the "Have You Seen Me?" title that got so buried so quickly that I didn't want to resuscitate it. I did put a cheap shot in on Stewart Bradley in the Coach's Film thread, because that dude blows.

For Mulli - How bad much Bradley be that his cred with the front office doesn't get him snaps ahead of Reggie Walker--the undrafted free agent? Hot garbage. Because he accepted a lower salary to play this year, and he'll be released and we'll only be stuck with a bunch of dead money next year, I can't really bag on him too hard.

I was really impressed that Schofield, Williams, and Housler were contributors last week. I didn't want to call attention to myself by starting a thread that was about me complementing them instead of letting their performance speak for itself.

FWIW, I was much more impressed with Schofield than I was with Williams, and I was still mildly disappointed in Rob Housler and his 2 receptions for 18 yards--Jeff King numbers.

Rashard Johnson is my current Huckleberry. That guy is the Stewart Bradley of draft picks.

Somewhat off topic.... when D-Wash makes the Pro Bowl, can we expect a picture of you in a D-Wash jersey?

We sure talk a lot about Mitch. We have like two threads about this a season.

Don't know why guy is so polarizing. If you don't like his long thought out posts don't read em! It's not like he's a contrarian just to be a contrarian jumping into discussions and talking down to people.

There's definitely posters who seem to enjoy the losing and poor play then the wins though. You can tell by their post counts and when they post.

I think it is time to let this thread die. I know most in here were being funny but it has definitely gotten a little personal as well.
