The Crew are back at Lower.com Field on Saturday to face CF Montreal, a familiar opponent to coach Wilfried Nancy.
Nancy, who's in his third year with Columbus, joined Montreal's organization in 2011 as the U18 coach. After rising through the ranks from the academy to the first team, Nancy was named head coach in 2021.
Since Nancy made the move to Columbus ahead of the 2023 season, Montreal has had two official head coaches, including former Crew 2 coach Laurent Courtois. Montreal fired Courtois on March 24, and now interim coach Marco Donadel is at the helm going into the Crew matchup.
"The last game that they played against Chicago, they were more aggressive," Nancy said. "They had more chances. I think that Marco (Donadel) is going to try to do the same. ... I expect a team aggressive.”
In Donadel's first game against the Chicago Fire on March 29, Montreal finished with a 1-1 draw.
