I feel the Jimmy Butler news is just cluttering up the other thread. So here we go.

According to
@DKSportsbook
, the Grizzlies’ odds to land Jimmy Butler in a trade have moved significantly from +3000 to +400.Oddsmakers now view Memphis as the co-favorites alongside the Suns and Warriors to acquire Butler. That’s a very notable shift in the betting market.

He isnt coming here. We don't have enough assets to sell off the albatross that is Bradley Beal

Plus we can't aggregate salaries anyways. Beal for Butler needs to be done as a single transaction for Phoenix to be able to participate. Sending Dunn or Oso makes it void. But know subsequent deals can be done but that also means Miami needs to give up more, which doesn't make sense, since they can't absorb those salaries without sending something out.

Butler has never left anywhere on good terms.

People also aren't realizing that we'd be trading Beal and his two remaining years for Butler who would be getting at least a 2 year extension added on to his remaining year. So 3 max or near max years for a 35 year old.

The correct move is to cash out on KD. It isn't happening with this group.

Yes, but for example sending Burks to the Pistons (they still have cap room) makes this trade work under the cap.

I lean on the Suns making this happen. The thought is Beal might be liking the idea of the night life in Miami. Personally if I’m Beal I would be happy to wave goodbye to Phoenix:)

That doesn't mean Riley concedes to an awful contract in return for Butler. If he wants the headache gone then he can trade him to Brooklyn for Ben Simmons expiring deal and be done with it. I doubt Brooklyn says no. Worst case scenario for Brooklyn is Butler opts in next year and is their tank commander. At least they have someone to sell some tickets.

I’m sure Beal would produce more value for the Miami team than Butler currently. I’m not sure Simmons could do the same but…

I doubt that the Nets try to win more games, at least their recent trades indicate the opposite.

Rumors are they're after a star next year in free agency and it might be easier with Butler there. I don't know. The main point was there's virtually zero chance Pat Riley decides he wants Beal now in return for Butler. The Heat didn't want Beal 2 years ago when he came here. They'll let Jimmy walk. There's a small chance they might consider a KD for Butler swap if the Suns are willing but it will cost us either KD or Booker to land Butler. We aren't getting him for Beal.

I don't see how the Suns can get Butler for Beal either unless a third team becomes involved.

This was something interesting Gerald Bourguet posted in a recent PHNX article.

The Suns trying to to dump Beal then getting denied by his NTC would be great for team morale going forward.

We've basically reached the point of no return now that these rumors have grown so much. Beal will definitely want out and I can't fault him if he knocks the team when he goes.

NTC’s in the NBA are pretty unprecedented. I think only LeBron has one and I’ve never heard of a player exercising it. Of course superstars can basically determine where they go anyways. If Beal gets frustrated enough he may waive it in the coming years when his deal becomes more movable.

The NTC gives players a lot of leverage. He essentially dictated the deal here as far including Goodwin with him and that Ayton wouldn't be part of the Washington package. Beal can make ridiculous demands, is my point. I hope if his name is out in the public this much now that the front office has him in the loop.

I think this season is close to lost anyways. I won't say entirely lost because stranger things have happened.

Maybe Beal says something, but I keep wondering if someone else on the team steps up and makes a surprise statement.

It wouldn't shock me if Booker or Durant might be unhappy. The Suns have chemistry issues that seem to run deep.

Ive seen a lot of Heat fans saying they'd do the swap for KD but Beal is a non-starter. I don't trust James Jones ability to find a third team either.

I know that's fans talking but that's also what we're doing here so it shouldn't be cast aside entirely. They believe they can make a run with KD. I know most Suns believe differently.

I think the Heat could make a run with Kevin Durant because of Erik Spoelstra. If there is anyone that can make it work, he can.

I'm ready for the Suns to change GMs for sure.
