The Suns are the only team Jimmy Butler is willing to sign a long-term extension with, per @ShamsCharania.Butler will say no to every destination except Phoenix as they tirelessly work to acquire the Heat’s star wing in a four or five-team deal this week.

The Heat probably feel they would rather have Butler than Beal, because of the size of Beal's contract.

If Butler doesn't play, they don't have to pay him.

The Heat remain uninterested in swapping Jimmy Butler for Bradley Beal.Even if Miami doesn’t have another trade for Butler they like, under no circumstances do they want to take on Beal’s contract.For Phoenix to pull this off, likely multiple facilitators need to be involved.

But then recently the Knicks showed how you do it in the opposite direction signing a relatively young Brunson what their cap space and building around him. Suffice it to say, there are multiple ways to build a contender.

They had a couple of advantages very few teams are likely to duplicate - 1 they had his father on staff. 2 They are New York a huge media market 3 They had very little competition for Brunson because at the time nobody thought he was that good.

Just because a fluke happens, does not mean it is easily repeatable.
