Dampier?? :biglaugh:

A true center is a much better fit then Joe. Our team would ROCK! but I can't see Dallas trading big for small

but could you imagine...

Nash
Richardson
Marion
Stoudemire
Dampier

I'd rather have JJ. Dampier is a foul machine whose only good year was a contract year. What does that tell you? A lot of us (me included) thought like you LAST year, but we've since actually learned our lesson.

Sure would be nice to have Damp right now against San Antonio.

Think about it yea he sucked it up against Amare this year but he's not the typical center. Damp was hired to stop or slow guys like TD, who is more of a conventional center.

I just can't see your reasoning when you say we couldn't use a 9 & 9 6 foot 11 center who for most of the year when he wasn't hurt averaged 15 & 15.

I would much, much rather have Joe Johnson right now than Erick Dampier. Why? Because in both our games against the Spurs, it's the GUARDS that have been killing us. Duncan's getting his points, but the difference is Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and (in game 1) Brent Barry.

The Phoenix Suns would never trade JJ for Erick Dampier. Not even Eric, who has serious man love for Dampier would make that trade. :) He wouldn't come close to fitting on this team, and he is seriously injury prone.

I love JJ, but he is nowhere near as good as guys like Tracy McGrady, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, and/or Dwayne Wade. I would put him in the same tier as Richard Hamilton, Jason Richardson, Michael Redd, etc.. As Eric said he shot such a high percentage because he was the third or fourth best player on his team. He might thrive as a second option in a situation like the one in Cleveland, but I don't think he will ever be a first option, top-tier player.

I don't remember Bryan Colangelo ever saying that they would match any offer for JJ. He has said that re-signing JJ and Amare (extension) will be the top priorities this summer.
