Don't have the patience to search thru the threads to find your comments about Hall...
However, care to make the case that the kid doesn't have a "NFL arm"?? That, simply because he went undrafted that there had to be something very wrong with him?

The kid has more than what it takes to be successful in this league - as I have contended all along. He won a game today with zero running game, a swiss cheese of an o-line, in his home town with Kurt Warner calling the game, against the defending SB Champs. He made every throw you cold possibly want from your QB. Deep outs. Slants and in-routes that required tremendous zip and accuracy. Across the field sideline patterns, and beautiful touch passes...

Don't know how many W's he'll put up in his career. But arm strength will never be the issue for Max. ;)

As long as the D scores 14 points and our Left Tackle gets a TD every game we should be fine.

The Cards had 3.2 yards per play today. But then compared to what we've seen the last 4 weeks the kid did do well.

It's a little early to be calling out K9, imo. Mr Hall has one game under his belt. I liked what I saw today too, but not enough to rag on others who have another opinion.

Btw, 82...I take it you are off the DA bandwagon.:D

The "DA bandwagon"?? That's funny... I never knew there was a DA bandwagon. I'm on, and always have been on, the Whiz bandwagon. He selected DA. I supported that decision. However, you can go back if you want to a few threads from August, during camp, where I made some fairly strong supportive posts about Hall.
As for K-9, I called him out solely on the comments about Hall's arm strength. Nothing else.

If you're arguing about Max Hall being able to play in this league, you're right. But if you're trying to say he has a lot of arm strength then you're wrong. He doesn't have a "cannon" but he can complete almost any pass within 30 yards. But don't expect many bombs.

He's trying to find a reason to rip Washington after today's game. So far the only thing he has is that he did not create bunny ears with the shoelaces when he tied his cleats. He is still watching game film.

Never said Hall had an Elway arm... He might not ever become a long-term starter or success in this league. I think that's unlikely, but anything can happen at this stage. And if it does, it won't be because he lacks NFL caliber arm strength. That's my simple point...

Come on guys. Once again: the Cards had a 3rd down conversion rate of only 26%. Hall had less than 180 yards passing and the team rushed for next to nothing. I don't think that refutes k9's take on Max Hall by any stretch of the imagination.

And don't forget that, and of course this is something that has been around the Cards well before Hall arrived, the Cards went 3 and out with the lead inside of 6 minutes twice.

What this game does show is that Hall can play in the NFL and not lose the game for us.

That 3rd down conversion rate has as much to do with how pathetic our line is than anything else! We simply can't run. With guys like Hightower and Beanie, it's stunning just how pathetic our run game remains... :bang:

BTW - I am calling out K-9 for one thing, and one thing only... His claims about Hall's arm strength were wrong, period. Time will tell if Max can actually win in the NFL. But his arm is plenty strong enough..

It's appropriate only because K-9 stuck a pitchfork in him the day he made the team and only backed up his argument the week he was announced the starter with a sophomoric display which consisted of belittling other posters and questioning Hall's character with false information. Special thanks to Russ Smith for clarifying the back story of his collegiate career.

As for Hall. He exceeded my expectations today. I was expecting tentativeness and many other rookie blunders. After the first interception, he did fine. Looks like his signature play is going to be the bootleg to the tight end (still wish we didnt do that at the end of the game). His completion % was 63%. Derek Anderson couldnt even dream of a % that high. Also, he played with virtually no running game today and the line continued to falter. Finally, he made use of our best offensive weapon. Hall to Fitz could sound very sexy moving forward (no homo). :D

I couldn't agree more. That is why I was saying that Hall was one tough SOB. Our oline has made an art form of being able to completely miss one defender. That Hall didn't have more than one INT is amazing.

Duck - I was there. Just trust me on this one... The kid made some terrific reads today. Under intense pressure. He was amazing...

Didn't read this, so I might repeat...but Max was everything that DA wasn't..which means...he played like an NFL QB...warts and all.

I loved it.

Yep. And Brees made some seriously DA like throws.

Toler owns Brees.

Rookie looked good today against the champs. I love having the bye week to ride this big win. Great first win.

Max averaged 6.2 YPA in this game. That would be good for 26th in the NFL this season. Fitz didn't get a TD on the long bomb because Max couldn't get the ball to him in stride and he had to slow down.

Many of the deep passes he completed (and I didn't count a completion longer than 28 yards in a cursory look through) were either right down the middle of the field or on that extended roll-out that closes off 2/3 of the field.

Max Hall's average completed pass was for only 9.88 yards. I'm still not convinced that he has an NFL-caliber arm. Sorry.

But you're not looking to be convinced or to convince anyone, are you? Just some chest-thumping in the wake of a game where Max Hall did little to distinguish himself from the Jimmy Clausens, Seneca Wallaces, and Bruce Gradkowskis of the NFL.

It's good to see that personal attacks are totally permissible here as long as their against people who hold unpopular opinions.

You know who he distinguished himself from? The only QB that really matters to the team at this point: Derek Anderson.

I don't think calling you out on this is a personal attack ...though I do think it's premature based on the fact it was only hours after the game and a game in which Hall may have exceeded expectations, but as you pointed out, didn't light the world aflame.

I did not make any personal attacks, but you came at me for thinking Max could do a good job. So good job K-9. I will not read your Hall bashing posts any longer, I will read your other stuff. The Cards won bro.

Hey K9 I bet they were falling all over themselves trying to get to their computers to call you out when the Cards started out, 2 yards, 3 yards, False Start, Interception. :p

Exactly the same way Warner threw to him.
