I must admit. I much prefer the games on gamepass that have the national commentary teams that the occasional ones that have Wolfley.

Wolfley was made was wrestling commentary, not football.

The only thing about Wolfley that I can appreciate is his homerism. Even that gets overboard at times, glorifying players that don't deserve it.

Can we all agree that Sando was the best?

Sando is great. Extremely nice and responsive on Twitter back in the day, had good takes, was very informative. I wish him all the success in the world at the Athletic, and mourned when he was placed behind a pay wall at E$PN. Even if he was never strictly a Cards reporter.

Calvisi is the worst. I think he could actually be good/not a cheerleader, but he's such a gross shill and is constantly trying to make hashtags and stuff work that... just... please stop. Him and Wolfley make the Big Red Rage almost unendurable when they just repeat the mantra that Kyler is going to be the MVP because of Mahomes and Lamar (which is a non sequitur) or that Robert Alford and Marcus Gilbert coming back were keys to the 2020 season (oops).

I don't know how Jurecki keeps getting hired in the valley honestly but it's nothing personal and I can't say I dislike him really.

Scott Bordow on the other hand should be covering knitting or some other foppish activity better suited for his wet-blanket personality. He's awful - but then again The Athletic is pretty awful in general. No idea how it hasn't gone under yet.

I don't know, I guess I'm a homer. I like to read/listen/talk about Arizona sports. That's one reason I visit this forum, and not any other teams sports forum.

I don't get that very often listening to espn, etc. I don't live in the Phx area, so, when I do drive down I usually tune into 98.7 just to listen about Arizona sports and enjoy it.

I like to hear about good things, not about all of the negative stuff that seems like is all we get on here (even when we have a 6 game winning streak). That's OK every once in a while, to me, but, the constant bashing of the coaches or players, really gets irritating, so I don't come here quite as often, but go to other non sport sites that draw my interest.

Maybe, a lot of that interest will return with the playing of sports, although I still can't seem to watch basketball much, even the playoffs. Money, TV, social media has changed (ruined) it so much for me, I can't bear to watch more than a couple of minutes at a time (rule changes, pandering to super stars, etc. smh). Why include a team that can go undefeated, but still not make the playoffs? I just get sick of it all. Maybe it's my old age showing up more and more?

Enough of my rambling and soap box rhetoric.

I guess I am in the minority in liking Wolfley. Maybe it has to do with me not taking his commentary seriously and just enjoying his enthusiasm. He does at times have good insight, but mostly he just adds color to the commentary for me.

If you can stomach Wolfley there is a special place in heaven for you. I didn't learn that kind of patience, even after raising 5 kids.

98.7 is the worst thing to happen to local sports. All one hears on the radio is their fake orgasm talking about local teams as if they are one home run, one basket, one touchdown away from championships. Pure BS.

i disagree

Every NFL town has the flagship station - and every towns flagship station does the homerism thing

i will gladly trade that for the amount of coverage they provide on the Cardinals -- even in the offseason, you can barely go a day of sports radio without some Cardinal coverage

i remember when it wasnt that way....

Hard to dislike anyone covering the Cardinals. Some are better than others, but all are here trying to provide a service to us. I've liked Urban, dating back to his time with the Mesa Tribune (are they still around?), but he get's paid by the Cardinals, so he is always going to spin current events in a positive light.

There are a few folks outside of Arizona that seem to go out of their way to disparge the Cards, ie. Boomer Esiason, that drive me batty at times (EDIT: Tom Jackson was THE worst at this). Then there are those that think bashing the Cardinals is just fun, part of the national conversation, and do so without fear of repurcussion because of percieved low fan support, such as Chris Collinsworth. On the plus side, I've always thought Prisco was more than fair in his reporting towards us.

I got an alert n my phone yesterday and the article was from the east valley tribune so I guess it does still exist.

He’s an excellent color commentator. I thought we were discussing his radio show with Doug Franz.
