Problem is I think by the time the draft comes around Tyler Wilson will be ahead of Geno Smith. Could come down to whether we like Geno or not.

I like what I saw out of Tyler Wilson more than what i saw out of Gino Smith. Gino Smith reminds me of that K-State QB. I didn't see the the kid from Syracuse play. A few people from this board are high on him. I would like to see him in action.

Not that high on Nassib from Syracuse. Like Aaron Murray a lot if he comes out.

Lol...

I like Arron Murray. I think he has "it"..

He doesn't have a cannon and he isn't ideal height. I don't care I see winner when I watch him.

In a perfect world I would say trade back in round one, pick up a second rounder, draft Arron Murray in the middle of the first and focus on fixing the oline, and find a quality RB.

So you like him because despite not having a great arm or ideal measurables, he has the "it" factor and is a "winner." Sounds like a "moxie" QB to me. Do you think we could bring back Max Hall to back him up since he also seems to fit your preference?

Murray's arm looked fine with me. Comparing him to Max Hall in any fashion is crazy. He made some bad decisions against Alabama, but the arm strength was quality.

At this moment, who would you select for the Cards if you had to select a QB. I'm not going to present this as poll because there are way too many options at this point. You do not have to list the round selected or your second and third choices. Simply, you are drafting and whoever you want will be there. This is interesting to do, because removed from the upcoming bowl games, it relies more on what we have seen on the field during their tenure and not combine antics of jump, hop and moxie skip. Plus, none of us are qualified to be scouts, and we can make any ludicrous selections we want from our extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemely limited film exposure to base judgement :D

I select Tyler Wilson

I would also select Tyler Wilson. I have watched him play almost every game for the past two years. I have heard him speak many times and have heard his teammates talk about him. He has the size, arm, courage, and smarts to play in the NFL. He has played in the SEC against the best like LSU and Alabama and has been highly successful. I have seen little of the other QBs and obviously I am a homer but in this case Wilson is the real deal. Under Bobby Petrino he played in an NFL type offense. I would take him with my 1st pick if he is there and he could learn under who ever we acquire in the off season from the NFL free agents unless he wins the starting job outright.

None of the above.

Come on Jeff! You always have a better opinion than that. Who do you suggest we use as a QB next year? You must have an opinion on that. Have you started watching soccer or something?

Tyler Wilson was thought highly of by the pros last year before he decided to come back for his senior year. He was programed as a first round pick but at what number I have no idea. He has set a lot of Arkansas passing record and as to toughness he is noted for his toughness and the ability to stay in the pocket and take the hit to get the pass off at the last second. This is a tough guy for sure. I do not recall him missing a game last year and perhaps one this year. In the SEC that is tough. He has been working out a lot with various people since the year ended preparing for the draft. If he is not one of the first 3 QBs taken then the scouts are blind. I think he will rise rapidly in stock come the NFL tryouts. He is considered much better than our QB that New England has on their roster that he replaced. His long passes are very good and he can throw hard and accurate into small windows and also make very long throws across the field. I do no even think he has a tattoo if that matters.

I'm basing a lot of my support for Wilson by the impression he left on me before this season. As a whole, I like his tenure at Arkansas which does the trick for me over Smith but Smith does have a far superior arm over the option of someone like Klein to me, I don't think it is even close. Smith just seems to look lost when he does not have ideal protection. Klein is better when put in a fix but his passes to me become downright ugly, though they get the job done in a college game which makes me wary of them ugly passes on a pro level.

Here's a hint, pro style offense, hint of spread to it, SEC cornerbacks defending against it.

A guy that can make that work, is the guy we want, JMO.

We don't need another QB. We need a great running game to go with our great D. Draft 2 super OGs and a powerful RB that can hit the holes quickly. That is all we need to make the playoffs.

BUILD THAT OL INTO ONE OF THE BEST.

Draft

1. Warmack OG
2. Any of the top 3-4 RBs most of which will go in the 2nd.
3. Thomas or Warford - both OGs can play OT, C also.

Would be nice to have both Warmack and Warford. Our OL and running game could be referred to as the War Lords

Warmack and Warford, that would be amazing.

We do need a QB, but we NEED two mauling OGs for both the passing and run game.

I'm changing my thought process on this.

I say we should go after Tyler Wilson.

Not that I've seen him play, I just want to get my name in Chopper's sig.

Collin Klein

I agree...He Wins, Smart Guy, Runs Well, Good Completion Percentage

http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/381823/collin-klein

Collin Klein, QB, Kansas State: What else is there to say about Klein? He's put K-State on his back the past two seasons and helped Kansas State win its first Big 12 title since 2003 and notch 21 wins in two seasons. This year, he'll get to finish his career in the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon, and a win would basically seal the deal for the 2012 team as the greatest in Kansas State history. Klein began his career with a position move to receiver, earned spot duty alongside Carson Coffman in 2010, but showed he was more than ready to lead the team in 2011. He was better than anyone could have ever guessed, and his leadership on and off the field endeared himself to his teammates.

No Jet, I don't have to select one. I refuse to be roped into, one of those "Levi over AP because we need a tackle" kind of decisions.

I'd feel differently if we were talking about Andrew Luck or RG3 (or possibly even Bradford). But, as of now, I don 't see anyone coming out this year who is in their league. (Maybe this will change as we enter bowl season).

To put it differently - if my choice was between Tyler Wilson and, say Tyler Wilson or Jonathan Ogden, I'd leap all over the LT. (And, as of right now, I'd choose Te'o over Wilson).

I've got a ton of skirt steak and gelato in the freezer and will, therefore, pass on your generous offer of steak and ice cream.

PS I remember where I was when we drafted EJ Junior and Lomax one-two, it was so cool.

Well said.

Had we drafted Geno, we would miss out on a quality QB in this upcoming draft. Taking him in the 1st round would have been flat out craziness.

Geno Smith = 8 interceptions, 57% completion rating, and Butt Fumble 2.0.

And still playing better than 31 year old Carson Palmer

No Geno in the 1st round. Still like Cooper. Would've loved to get Geno in the 2nd though.

His stats are actually pretty similar. Difference is Geno would have been a high draft pick, and we got Palmer for peanuts.

Geno is getting paid peanuts. He is young and learning while Palmer is on the downside and a clear liability right now. Palmer is near done while Geno we be the man in NY for the next 12 years.

Palmer was clearly brought in as a bandaid until we draft our QBOF. Obviously, Arians and Keim didn't think Geno was all that great either (even in the 2nd round), so there really isn't much of an argument.
