#1 - Palmer
#2 - Gabbert
#3 - 2018 1st or 2nd round draft pick

And yes, I would dress 3 QB's next year.

I agree with this. If Palmer doesn't retire he is our number 1, no question in my mind. I would like to give Gabbert a little more time to see how he develops in this system. We NEED to draft the QBOTF next year, period. IMO

Then they don't vote. Ohh well.

The reason I set up this poll is that, barring injury, the starting QB is going to be one of the two and not a rookie QB, and both represent not only a talent difference, but also a fundamental difference in how the front office/coaching staff will proceed with the near future of the entire program.

Carson Palmer, the better quarterback, represents a commitment to trying to win football games and, "going for it one more time."

Blaine Gabbert, the lesser talented quarterback, represents a commitment to a rebuild/retool and also a focus on getting younger at the position.

A rookie is simply not a choice as this team won't start a rookie Week 1 and would be a flawed option. This doesn't mean that moving forward that the a rookie won't start, but rather, what's the position of the team on opening day?

Why no option for a completely different QB that's already in the league then?

Palmer's goose is cooked. He didn't even look that good before the broken arm. Gabbert's clearly not the guy either. That doesn't mean I'm saying throw every dime we have at Cousins, but if we need a holdover for a rookie, there's guys to be had. And a lot of this is contingent on whether or not we have a new head coach, which I think we will.

I voted gabbert. Stupid huh? No it isn’t. We are not winning next year so why tie up 20 million of salary cap on Palmer? Draft a Qb and start rebuilding this team. Gabbert with a better supporting cast , dj returning and a couple of decent wr’s will keep us competitive on offense. As for the defense, that’s a whole other thread.

This is my thought process. Get rid of Palmer's big contract ASAP and move on. But this plan is contingent on getting a QBOF to be a good plan. The only other way it works well is if the Cardinals walk away from the 1st round with a stud Olineman or a star receiver.

I think if you survey the league, outside of a Cousins or to a lesser extent, Tyrod Taylor, you won't find many better options than Gabbert. He is good enough to win if all other aspects (running game, special teams, etc) are playing well.

Tyrod Taylor, Case Keenum, Sam Bradford (pending a physical), Alex Smith, Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater (pending physical as well), are all names I'd rather have than Gabbert if we're assuming we draft a QB in the first or 2nd round to be the future.

Per Jurecki, Cousins isn’t an option for AZ.

I'm not really a fan of any of these, but for the purposes of the poll there's no option to just draft a rookie and start him. So working in that framework, I listed the guys I'd rather have. Tyrod is a fine holdover and is still reasonably young - plus is finding ways to win with almost zero talent around him in Buffalo. Keenum is playing lights out right now. Bradford and Smith make the list because they're older and can hold over while we take a year or two to get a rookie. McCown is a one year rental. Bridgewater has potential to grow into more if he's healthy.

In a perfect world, we'd get one of these guys, Gabbert, AND a rookie.
