Which RB will premier?

I think Wiz will remain loyal to Tim because of his hard work and production last year by having him be opening day starter. For the talk of not having "It" he had more TDs then any other rookie and actually played better in the post season.

I disagree with this part of your post. HC Whiz has made the Cardinals in to a team of competition. I am sure Whiz respects RB T Hightower, but he will play the best player. He's made that clear.

Hightower has the potential to step it up and prove himself this season and I think he'll start going into the season. When all is said and done I think Wells will be starting, we will see.

I would be thrilled for every run we could save for Beanie to run in the playoffs.Instead of Beanie hitting the rookie wall and falling off when it counts.

I would love having a very FRESH Beanie Wells going into the playoffs at home this year.Nothing at all against Timmy at all.I hope he is so good he can hold off Beanie as long as he can.

I'm sure with Coach Whiz its gonna be a knockdown drag'em out fight for the starter's job this season.Nothing is GIVEN by the Whiz.

I just want the guy who can make first downs on early downs in the game the most.So we can avoid as many 3rd and long downs as Kurt HAD to make last year and did.

First downs is all I ask.I don't care if Wells does'nt break one for more than 40 yards all season.I would prefer him healthy and learning all the time,just as Timmy was doing behind Edge last year.

We may even get a bonus from our new guy from the Browns to add to our arsenal till Beanie learns to catch and run from out of the backfield.

We have plenty of weapons.Its just making the right call on which ones to go to on the right downs.We have to get more unpredictable than we were last year.

Plus I PRAY we can continue this long streak of injury free play.

I chose Wells, but the Cardinals will use a two back system. All the signs point to this. Whiz has learned NFL football through nothing but a two back system.

And I agree with a two back system. I think it is key for a Superbowl winning team to have a two back system.

All of the teams that would be considered having a 2 back system had over 500 rush attempts last year. The Cardinals have 340. The "two back system" only really applies to teams that base their offense around running the ball and don't want to wear out their starter.

IMO the key to winning a Superbowl is do one thing exceptionally well and be good at everything else. The Rams won a SB with their passing offense, the Patriots won 3 with their defense and Brady making key throws. Steelers won last year and they didn't run the ball well at all. Their passing offense ranked higher than their rushing offense. The Giants, with their 3 headed monster at RB, won their last SB because of a great defense, not because they had multiple runningbacks.

The common denominator amongst super bowl winners seems to be the defense. If we had a better defense, we would have been super bowl champs, but it is what it is...Hopefully our D will step up this year, and we can make another run int he palyoffs. The purpose of running the ball more will certainly put less pressure on Warner, and it will virtually make our offense unstoppable, but that wasn't our downfall, the defense was.

I think they will both get 12-15 carries per game. Ultimate 2 headed monster.

I agree with you guys. I suspect that the Cards will use a two back system, much like they used for part of last year.

It's hard to imagine the stud 1st round pick they just drafted not being the starter. TH is the complementary player, not Wells.

I tend to agree. Hightower was a great fifth round pick that panned out exceptionally well for the Cards last year. But I suspect Beanie will start, perhaps not day one, but soon after.

It's funny we talk about two back systems. Pretty much every team has one, but there is almost always a clear cut #1.

Prime example is AP and Chester Taylor in Minnisota. Clearly, AP is the straw that stirs the drink for the running game; however, I've seen instances where I think that's AP running the ball but up comes Taylor after a 20 yard gain. Probably because AP tires them out

As much as I love Timmy, I think Wells is going to emerge as that #1 for that reason. But he is going to make Timmy that much better.

I expect Wells to emerge as the clear #1 by mid season. I think Hightower is a fantastic player that will continue to play a vital role, but with Wells skill set, it's hard to imagine him being #2.

Once Beanie don's his favorite number #28 to start the season,I believe Kurt Warner will start to have flashback's to the GSOT days and start to use Beanie as a major weapon out of the backfield recieving.

I'm not sure Wells will get as many yards RAC in the running game as I'm thinking he will in the pass recieving game this year.Beanie just needs some room to get free and make some first downs.

Someone will have to remind Kurt not to call Beanie,Marshall.Okay so I'm dreaming.I'm bored and am very excited about the upcoming season and all of the possibilities we will have on offense.Just think if Pope were to suddenly wake up and be the man we all thought he "COULD" be?

Of course our defense is gonna have to step up from game one against the whiners who want to punch someone in the face this year.I don't think its gonna come down to the last play on OUR goaline like it did last year,in the nest.

I agree about the two back system. I believe the number of carries will increase this season if the Cardinal's offensive line is improved. I think the Cardinals will go back and forth on the need for power and speed at RB unless Wells just explodes on the scene. I do look for Hightower to show more this year. I vote for Hightower to start early in the season.

I think it will be alot like how Whiz handled last years #1 pick. Wells will see the field early and then take over mid-season as the starter. Like i said in an earlier post, i think Wells's year with be similar to how Kevin Smith's year was in Detroit last season:
Smith did start the first 4 games,then on the bench for 4 before starting the final 8.
1st 8 games-70 carries/305 yards 4 TD
LAST 8- 168 carries/ 671 yards 4 TD
