This game is 1000% on the pathetic, cowardly, afraid to lose coaching style of Whisenhunt and Haley. I really hope he learns from his continued mistakes that he's been making all year long.

I'm very disappointed and disheartened by today's game, regardless of the outcome.

I'm sorry but that's just silly. Cowardly and afraid to lose? He's been one of the most aggressive coaches this year. We probably lead the lead in onside kick attempts.

How many have they attempted and recovered?

I'm not being a troll, just curious.

That's a horrible example considering his decision and timing to do so today. The end result will likely trump any criticism but the Cardinals were the far better team today and shouldn't have had to squeak it out. Mainly because of the overly conservative, predictable approach that Whis continually reverts to.

It will cost the team in the long run.

Sheesh. We win and the coach is still a jerk? Guess there's just no pleasing some folk.

Yeah, the coaching staff is holding Warner back from his true potential of double-digit turnovers per game.

Wow. To me it looked more like your boy was a little nervous to start the game. But he settled in.

Relax mokler. Have a beer or two.

MM, you need to take a chill pill. Our head coach is the main guy responsible for putting in the game plan that just defeated the Cowboys.
If it weren't for two defensive breakdowns this game would have been deemed a thorough thrashing.

We were hardly"far better" - especially the first half when the offensive really sucked. The onside kick was a bad call but the D overcame.

No kidding....Whisenhunt is the reason we win this game. Whisenhunt instilled that "never give up" attitude into these players that Denny never did.

The only thing that pissed me off was the lack of tackling by our DBs. No way in hell Barber should have scored that TD in the 4th. Wrap him up!!! Grrrr...

Anyways, still hell of a win! GO CARDS!!!!

You guys are high on excitement right now but I'm not randomly criticizing. The end result doesn't justify every move made during the game and the Card's are going to suffer at some point when the keep it close/fall behind early approach is employed against a better team.

I realize this is pissin' on the parade and I apologize for the poor timing but I was very frustrated by Whis and Haley today. I mean, how often can the Cardinals really rely on a truly dominating and stifling performance by the defense?

The default approach of run, run 3rd and long is worrisome because at some point the offense won't be able to just flip a switch and score a TD or three when it needs it. There simply was no reason to sit on their collective hands like they did in the first half. The reason Dallas was getting pressure on the offense was the same reason most teams get pressure on the Cards offense. They run the base offense that is predictable and very unproductive. I can't be the only one who noticed that once they went back to the spread offense in the 2nd half that things started to click.

I don't think Whis is above criticism in this regard and I am by no means against him. I applaud his efforts, think he's one of the best first time coaches that I've seen, really support his overall message and at this point, he's the coach of the year if I had a vote. But, his insistance on reverting to an ineffective offense and conservative approach when there is a contrasting amount of success to compare it to from the previous week worries me.

:doi: It's called gameplanning for your opponent. It was obvious when the Cards had the lead they were going to try and run the ball to keep the Dallas offense off the field. Against BUffalo, there was no big concern with a high powered offense. Once the Cards got behind, they threw the ball.

There's a big difference between long, sustaining drives and quick 3 and outs. The offense has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that they cannot run the ball and sustain drives in the conventional set. They also showed last week that they could pass the ball short as a substitute for a running game and sustain long, scoring drives with that approach. As they did in the second half vs. Dallas.

I give Whis credit for making the halftime adjustment but it was still a bad move to let off the gas after being spotted 7 points. This offense is just night and day different with the conventional vs. spread approach. It would be one thing if it was just Warner struggling with the conventional approach but the o-line, receivers, etc. all look out of sync and uncomfortable in it. I just think it was an unwise decision to risk it in such an important game.

If we run the spread offense all game it will start to lose it's effectiveness. You have to put in different looks to keep the defense honest. If it was as simple as running the spread all day, Wiz would be doing it.

That's true but I still think it would be better to use it early and get a lead rather than keeping it in the back pocket until it's inevitably needed. I would concur that over-using it to the point of the league finding a way to stopping it would be bad but they have already continually stopped the base offense. I would much rather see the offense work on the running game when protecting a lead. Running until they fall behind isn't very appealling.

Yea, it couldn't hurt to open the game with the spread. In the end the base offense needs to continue to improve if we don't want to be a one trick pony.
