yes i'm going to put some of the blame on him. our offense needs to be what has been successful for us in the past. a quick, call the play at the line type of offense with passing our number one priority. oh and yes wells fumbled a couple times last game. but he needs to be our starter. hightower started last season with less than a 3 yard average when we had a much better back in edge. we just need to look a lot more quicker and get up to the line and let warner do what he is best at, he can read the D and he needs to take advantage of that.

One thing that sticks out to me was the field goal drive. Kurt had Q wide open for an easy first on 3rd down, but forced a pass to Fitz in the endzone, overthrowing him. A play was called that would have gotten an easy first down, but SuperKurt thought it was 2008.

Maybe its execution. In the 4th quarter, Kurt waited too long to throw to an open Breaston, getting pressured and underthrowing instead. I have had lots of problems with Whis' playcalling, but maybe its who's running the plays? Kurt looks like he did in preseason... So would Matt, given play time, look like he did in preseason?

4th quarter, threw inside to Q who broke outside and was obvious he rushed it...
overthrew Fitz on a chance for a huge play...
Took a 22 yard loss on a sack
Threw a pick to end the first half when it was obvious he needed to throw it away (Have problems with play call here. run it!)
Threw pick that was intended to be picked... Because there was no chance for any receiver to get to it.

Kurt has long been heralded as great under pressure. Able to stand in there and get the play made. Tonight he was scared. He does not have the fire anymore. OLine sucks, sure, but plays were there to be made that were not.

Your reading to much into it and dead wrong about the fire. If Kurt has time he is the most accurate Qb in the league outside of Peyton. The Oline was beyound horrid tonight and Kurt hung in there and had we not turned the ball over inside the 5 yd line (get Beanie in there Whis!!!) we would have been in this game. As usual trying to lay it all on Kurt. He again was not as bad as many want to portray. The play calling and the Oline on Offense and the overall laydown of the Definsive backs put this on ice by halftime.

I thought he was supposed to be accurate when pressured. I'm not giving the O line a pass. They stunk it up something fierce. Kurt just does not look right. Missing open receivers, making Same Ol' Kurt mistakes.

You can't have it both ways.
Wells missed all but the first OTA (stupid rule) and most of training camp (ankle sprain). As a result he doesn't know the entire offense, or at least hasn't had an opportunity to do reps on it. It's the passing set that he knows least. So you can either pick having Wells in the game more, and passing less; or passing more (like tonight) and Wells less.

When you are playing a team with a very solid pass defense and a weak run defense you should be smart enough to go with the former.

In the pregame telecast, I thought Warner looked tense and tight. When he gets that look, I get nervous. I think he knew before the game, that the passing offense would have to carry the load.

Big difference between the Jags game and last night. The running game contributed something at Jax and the Jags defense had to respect it. Last night Freeney and Mathis were teeing off all night long.

Also, Indy was getting decent yardage on the ground, the Cardinals were getting stuffed or gaining a yard or two early on. Russ Grimm is just not earning his pay check IMO.

Here is what I blame Whis for...

Playcalling -

Running game: No confidence in Beanie?

1st and goal at the 1 foot line and you pass it (we had a timeout).

No huddle to start the game would have put immediate pressure on the Colts D and probably would have gassed them pretty quickly. We ran it very successfuly coming out of halftime and then the next drive (down 21-10), we went back to the base offense and had to punt!

When you can't block two DE's one on one..what do you do? TE/RB help, screens, quick hits, no huddle...etc.
