Whiz was a guest on Rome in Phoenix today. No much real info put out. Rome did ask him about why he said Leinhart would be the starter and Whiz sort of danced around that one but in so many words did say he was the starter. Asked about Edge and he said they leaned more towards the end of the year how to better use him based on the blockers we had. Mostly fluff but some fluff is better than no fluff.

Yeah , mostly average at best blocking. I would love to get a more active LG on this team, one that can get out , run and lead.

I saw the interview. Whiz said Leinart was starting to play well right before he got hurt, and that is why he is the starter. Whiz said something about liking what they had been able to do with Leinart. Rome asked if Leinart gave them the best chance of winning, and Whiz said yes.

I cant stand him. He is the most annoying member of the sports media IMO.

Actually, I saw that interview and was more than a bit concerned. When asked, Whiz said that the season absolutely did not go as he planned, and talked about some organizational problems. He didn't go into specifics, except to talk about things like travel plans for the team, but he mentioned that it helped coming from a winning organization when he had to deal with this stuff. Now, he didn't come out and badmouth the organization, but it really made me wonder what kind of difficulties he had behind closed doors. One can only speculate, but none of the things I would speculate about would be positive. This worries me. Hopefully he can clear up those organizational problems.

Hmmm.... Could that be the reason behind the second year disasters our last 4 coaches have generated?

stout -- I dont think he was referring to "The Organization" but in the challenges of organizing the off the field aspects of running a football team -- like travel schedules and dealing with the media.

Yeah, I got that too, and he was hasty to say he enjoyed working for the organization, but...well, when first asked, he said that no, he was not satisfied the way the season had gone, and the first reason he gave wasn't football related, but organizationally related. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but there seemed to be some stuff he wasn't saying there.

The reason I feel confident in my interpretation is that I have heard that before from Wis -- his biggest challege as head coach was getting all the off the football field stuff in order, the administrative aspect of the job that he didnt have to worry about when he was a coordinator

I hope you're right. We'll see this offseason if Whiz gets the support he needs off the football field. I'm sure he'll be able to handle the administrative aspect now that he's had a season under his belt.

Whiz did not say as much but I had this gut instinct he did run into some problems with the organization. In my mind it was from the GM and up?? That is strictly my opinion which has been biased over the years but he did indicate he had some problems beyond the players.

I can only hope he has run into problems with the organization; obviously there are things that need to change behind the scenes. I don't get the impression that anyone (Mike B., Rod, Whiz) places their ego above the desire to change the culture of losing.

I know that there were some problems getting the team in on time for the Tampa Bay game. They got in very late in the morning. Stuff like that. The team needs to be rested and prepared to go to work. IT could have affected the outcome of that game. Maybe some others.

You have several "get out of ban free cards"

Thanks! I'll have to remind you of this if I ever decide to post my collection of photographs of myself, Tango's deer and my 3 chickens on our wild Cabo vacation.

Perhaps Whiz is upset about us traveling out to the East Coast on Saturdays as we did before the Tampa game.
