The radio talking heads are now all over hiring Whiz to replace Shanny. Apparently they saw the game Sunday and feel he's the right guy to get RG III on track. Just look what he did with Ben, Warner, Rivers etc., and (OMG!), he took the frickin' Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl (but lost, so he's still hungry). Jay Gruden took a bit hit here following Cincy's loss. GBR!

I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up in Detroit. With Matthew Stafford already in place and a relatively weak division, it's the prefect destination for him IMO.

He's quite the QB developer. Just look at the splendid job he did in Arizona with developing QBs.

That is interesting.

Whiz is from the Joe Gibbs coaching tree.

Detroit seems like a perfect situation for whiz to me. I wonder if he would bring horton too being that they have 4-3 personell.

He would be a good fit in Detriot. Not so much in Washington.

I said on the "ideal landing spot for Whis" thread that Washington would be a great fit. If you want to turn RG3 into a pocket passing QB who can use his mobility, Whis is a great piece. If you're going to overhaul your defense with some pieces in place, Whis is a great fit. One issue is that Washington has a Rod Graves type in the General Manager's chair, which might be a challenge for who's picking the ingredients.

From an offensive personnel perspective, Detroit seems like a good landing spot, but I think their OL is in transition, and they have that 4-3 defense that will have to be retooled--Suh and Fairley are tall enough to be 3-4 ends, but that's really not what they're going to be great at.

If Whiz is handed a great QB, he can do ok. If not, he fails miserably.

Just like most every other coach in the history of the NFL.

Real einstein to figure that out ;)

And a Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and Derek Anderson.
didn't he win 7 games with Kolb and Skelton at QB? That's considered a plus in my book.

I don't remember exactly but wouldn't they have made the playoffs if Andre Roberts didn't trip over the goal line and made the catch? And that's with JOhn "I can't make another roster" Skelton at QB.

7 wins after back to back division titles in what at the time was a joke of a division is a plus? Weird.

Indy went from 10+ years of playoffs to the first pick of the draft when they lost their franchise QB.

Even more weird.

Everyone wants to place Whiz in Detroit. While having Stafford in place certainly helps, Detroit is about the most undisciplined team in the league. I don't see Whiz as the type of coach who can get these punks to suddenly follow the rules and play disciplined football.

Warner was on 98.7 today and said he didn't think Whiz would do well in Detroit. Well he didn't exactly use those words but the gist of it was that "the way Whiz leads might not be a good fit for the personalities in Detroit."

FWIW he also said he thinks Whiz is a "really good" coach and that he felt like he got the short end in AZ.

Warners words not mine, just putting it out there. I am not a Whiz defender.

And the Cardinals end up getting a good coach, purging the coaching staff and roster and turn a 5-11 team into a 10-6 team in one season. That may be the most telling thing about the Whisenhunt coached Cardinals post Super Bowl era.

Honestly I don't care anymore as Whisenhunt and company are no longer with the Cardinals and that is a good thing. He had his chance do do it his way, with his people and his players and failed miserably when he did and the team continually got worse. He's a good OC though and what he did in San Diego with that offense this year and his time in Pittsburgh is proof of that.

Whiz did great things and he did bad things. I liked him, and at times I disliked him. He is now gone. Good luck to him. Hey, thats an awful lot like being a normal person. Weird.

Right now Arians is my coach. I hope he beats the tar out of whiz at any time he meets him. This is so simple, the way yall go back and forth about him is laughable.

I don't think Detroit is a good fit either. That team plays too emotional and is lacking leadership. That is two characteristics of the Cardinals from 2010-2012, especially the leadership part.

You conveniently left out that the Cards also added a NFL caliber QB, which is the more telling thing.

I like Arians but people that think Whiz can't coach are just plain wrong. How good a coach was John Fox when he was throwing Delhomme(the Int machine version) and Clausen out there.

Rod Graves is the reason for the Cards rapid fall. The Cards may have lacked leadership but that's because Graves let the main team leaders, at least defensivley, leave all within one day in Dansby and Rolle. Then Warner retires and there was a serious leadership vacuum. Even Arians said the players themselves will determine how good the team is.

Exactly! Years from now, we will look back & realize what a great HC Ken Whisenhunt was. 2 Division titles, 4 playoff wins, and a SB birth. 100 years will pass & NO future Cardinal coach will touch that! If any HC did that in his career, he'd be considered a very good coach. Whiz did it in a 3 year span. In 5 years, we will regret that we let this guy go.

Geez thats pessimistic...I might as well stop rooting for the team if that's the case
