The Cardinals are hard to predict and this draft is too with so many QBs as options and QB needy teams. After I have seen enough of the players and have seen what the Cardinals have done, or rather have not done, my selection is Lamar Jackson. As I recently stated in a another post about Keim not wanting to get jumped again, as in the case of Watson or Mahomes, they are going to make a slight move to ensure they get LJ. Wilks had an athletic Cam Newton while at Carolina. Arians and Keim are still close, and Arians likes him. Keim it seems does not want to get jumped again in the draft, and getting jumped means someone moves up ahead of your initial draft position. Then you have all these reports that the Cardinals do not like him, which during the draft means they actually do like him... they actually do not like LJ, they luv him :newcards:

If the Cardinals trade up I see them going after Darnold or Rosen.

If they stay put I'm leaning towards WR Calvin Ridley:
He plays with elite game speed. Most importantly he runs the best routes I have seen in years with super crisp cuts coming out of his breaks. This allows him to gain separation from DBs. It usually takes WRs a year or two to adjust to the NFL. I think Ridley can make an impact on day one with his ability to run every NFL route to perfection. The comparisons to Marvin Harrison are spot on IMO.

I don`t want to see a WR for the Cards in RD 1.Too many other needs.Would rather see McGlinchey for RT or Vita Vea DT or Denzel Ward CB or Will Hernandez G.WRs can be gotten in RDs 2 or later.

You could argue that WR is the biggest need for the Cardinals.
You’re 100% correct, but I don’t think Ridley is a true #1 wr. I would rather have players such as Anthony miller, Christian Kirk, or Simmie Cobbs because they are just as talented, but could be had in round 2. I think we need to draft at least 2 WRs in this draft though.

you could.

but with Aaron Donald and Donkey Kong Suh playing side by side against us twice a year....you could also argue that WR's wont matter because without interior line help our QB will never get a pass off.

what you cant argue is the fact that while this draft has no amazing talent at WR it does in fact have lots of talent.
E.Q. St Brown, Christian Kirk, Anthony Miller, DJ Chark...all there in the second... Auden Tate, Simmie Cobbs, James Washington...all there in the third...

any of those guys can contribute in their rookie season

I can say with utter confidence that we won't draft a QB in rounds 1 or 2. Keim is great at being predictable, and this has been obvious to me for over a month.

I agree he has been predictable in the past but I think he has learned from his mistakes. If he hasn't then I have been giving him too much credit lately.

I think it's all a smokescreen but we will see tonight.

I'll be getting out the popcorn and the beer.

And remember Gambo correctly called the first two rounds last year.

Minkah Fitzpatrick, Josh Jackson, DJ Moore or Calvin Ridley. That's the group who I think they'll pick from. Then go the other position in the 2nd if they don't go QB.

I will puke if any of those guys are the Cards pick.Linebackers can be drafted later,Safety blah,Fitzpatrick-not good enough to start CB ,Hughes is not worth #15,A damned WR at 15 i sure hope not. There are a bunch of solid WRs.Cards need to go Offensive Tackle, top offensive Guard or Vita Vea DT .Since QBOF is not a option in RD 1 then those are my preferences,-McGlinchey,Hernanadez or Vea.

I bet Gambo is right and what he is saying makes sense. It's almost certain the Cards will draft a CB...

I'm not a fan of DJ Moore that early. Kid doesn't get much separation and needs to improve his route running. Probably wouldn't contribute much this season.

I wouldn't mind the other 4 guys.

Gambo was just raving about Moore yesterday. He says they see him as a Boldin type of receiver. Very physical, very tough, unafraid, will catch the ball in a crowd, will make the defender pay.

McGlinchey, if gone they’ll take a corner, likely Alexander.
