~Vince Wilfork (I think)

This Year (in no particular order, and to be narrowed down later):
~DeAngelo Williams
~Aaron Rodgers
~Ronnie Brown
~Antrel Rolle
~Cadillac Williams
~Derrick Johnson
~Cedric Benson

...that's a lot of names, I know. I'll figure out later who I'm hitching my wagon to after I start seeing more highlights and analysis.

Also, I'm assuming Leinart either won't enter the draft or won't be there for us at #8, otherwise he is hands down my "pimp selection."

Lets see
1st rd Derrick Johnson
2nd rd Rolle
3rd rd Williams
4th rd Benson
5th rd Brown
6th rd Williams
7th rd Rodgers

Thats a hell of a draft, I like it :)

Darnell Dockett

There were many that I liked in the first three rounds, but these were my favorites for the first round. I still can't believe Dockett lasted till the third round. He was the best player at the senior bowl. He was almost unblockable in that game. I liked him before that because I am a Florida State fan, but after that game I thought he would be a first rounder.

I don't have a list of my top players yet. I am still going over game tapes of running backs. I will send in my article on them in the next week. As far as RBs go, out of the first eight running backs that I have reviewed, Cedric Benson has looked the best. The best WR that I have watched this year that is coming out is Braylon Edwards.

No way Carlos Rogers falls to the 7th round. He's a 5th rounder at least.

Duh...no way Brown goes to rd 5....me smells some sarcasm here.

Last years top three for me:

1-Big Ben

2-Big Ben

3-Big Ben

This year in no certain order:

1-Cedric Benson

2-DeAngelo Williams

3-Ronnie Brown:

You have my second and third rounders in Jackson and Clarett. I just can't see a clear guy at #8 yet.

The only thing is that I feel DG wants an experienced RB and Harry already said that they have inquired about Bennett. I would like Jackson at Cb in the second Rd so Rolle wouldn't be needed even if he was there and I don't think he will last to the 8 spot. That leaves us with Alex Smith or Johnson or a riser. I would rather wait until the Senior Bowl is over to see if there is a better pick at 8. Truthfully and I am sure there will be some ridicule but I would rather trade the 8 and next years #1and #3 with Quan for Bennett and Moss and there 2nd this year that I would use on Baas for the Oline...but that is just me.

Last year My personal top hypes were;
1. Roy Williams
2. Steven Jackson
3. Sean Taylor

This year I am going with

1. Alex Smith QB
2. Vernand Morency RB
3. Antrell Rolle S/CB

My sleeper picks are

1. Kevin Everett TE
2. Marion Barber III RB
3. Heath Miller TE
4. Channing Crowder LB

I am not rating these as the top players in the whole draft, but as players the Cards need and will be available with the 1st and possibly second picks.

Rolle is top 10 first round

Smith could be anywhere in first or even drop to top of second round.

I believe Morency can drop to 2nd round.

Who were your picks last year and who do you like this year based on need and draft position?
I like Everett, I'm prety sure Barber III is staying in school with his boy Maroney. Those guys are gone be huge next year....

I think Baas would be a great pick at the 2nd spot. The man knows how to play OG and is mean as a snake.

My sleeper i want to see run is CB Brandon Browner. Great bloodlines and if he can run a 4.4/4.5, I say we take a shot at him. He may be gone by the third tho.

Ja...

(Ahem)

JAAasss......

nope, just can't do it.

Nice audition for NFL jason white. That one throw into quintuple coverage was particularly sweet.

He'll be lucky if he goes on the first day. After all the good things he showed in two years, I still think he'll make a squad. But gee whiz. cost himself a lot of money tuesday night.

I actually think that Moss has worn out his welcome in Minnesota and could be had in a trade. The big issue would be his large contract and signing bonus that the Vikings would have to eat. Moss really liked Denny and would love to play for him again. However we have no qb that could get the ball to him on the long td routes that have been his trademark. Interesting that you brought that up as I was thinking the same thing.

At this point I like:

First Round:
Antrel Rolle, CB Miami
Alex Barron OT, Florida State
Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn

Second Round:
David Baas, G, Michigan
Corey Webster, CB, LSU
J.J. Arrington, RB California

Will change many times in the next 3 months.

I don't see where Josh would have a problem getting the ball deep. Moss actually gets behind the defense on deep patterns, what a novel concept don't you think.

Hey Wally - what do you think of Devin Hester? Is he going to get more playing time at WR next year? I think he only had 1 catch this past year. he has some major speed.

What ever happened to Jamie German?

Nope. He will be taking over for Rolle at CB. That is , by far his best position and where he played the last four games this year. He can actually hit guys. Not like Rolle, but they are comparing his cover skills to Deion.

Oh I know, that's why I put the 3 smilies at the end. MW went to USC because Florida schools wanted him to play TE.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if he winds up at TE in the NFL. Sharpe said he resisted it in college, Marcedes Lewis wanted to play WR at UCLA.

I like Matt Jones from Arkansas as my sleeper TE, he's a QB that John H has mentioned a few times, huge kid 6'6" 240 and very fast and he's not going to be an NFL QB.

I think Mike is a terrific player but I'm not really saying we should pick him at 8 as a TE.

Matt Jones is so interesting. TE sleeper for sure. Good pick Russ.

I like Andrew Walters, but not for us. I see Cleveland or Chicago picking him.

Alex Holmes, TE- he's a big boy

Jammal Brown- OT

Marcus Johnson- OG

Long shot: Marion Barber III RB
