Did anyone read what Jay Feely had to say about the last-minute proposal from the owners? I think what Feely had to say has real merit. He essentially said that had the proposal been made earlier in the week and not in the last hours, there would have been time to negotiate through the points more carefully...and time to re-establish the necessary trust between the parties.

One of the age old arguments of what is fair when it comes to money. I have zero issues with the CEO getting paid a bunch of money. Without his leadership and direction a company won't succeed. I do have a huge issue with CEO's who bankrupt or severly damage a company and are given a golden parachute (tens of millions of dollars) when forced out (fired). As with any situation in life there are examples of greed because human beings are far from perfect.

Unions were desperately needed at one point and time. They then became too powerful and greedy. Auto workers in Detriot making $75 per hour is stupid and greedy at it's best.
Wonder why companies moved their plants over seas? I don't, some unions priced themselves out of the market. Of course in some cases it's simple greed on the companies part. No one party is completely innocent or guilty in all of this.

One really can't compare the NFL to a regular business. Anything entertainment related plays by a different set of rules. So comparing Joe Plumber to Adrien (I'm a slave) Peterson is like comparing apples to oranges.

The owners tried to break the back of the players and then rulings went against them and at the last moment they gave a decent proposal. The players are on a winning streak and let it get personel and now are going for the knockout. Both sides need a quick and hard kick to the nads.

I don't understand this Mitch. What deadline were they under? They had already agreed to extend the deadline twice and I'm sure the owners would have had no objections to extending it again. If the players needed more time, why didn't they take it?

I blame the ownership, they created the last CBA, the players were ok with it, and the owners are the ones causing this. Those are the facts; if the owners hadn't locked out, we would be talking about free agency right now, not who is to blame for this labor dispute. Additionally we all know what the players make, but I can't trust the owners when they won't even reciprocate. Open the books so that the public opinion can have a more balanced view of what's really going on.

Exactly. Don't cry poor then refuse to prove it.

Yes I did & I also heard yesterday on Sirius NFL radio that Mawae & Pete Kendall said the players would never agree to play an 18 games achedule.

I sided with owners. In any negotiations you compromise and meet somewhere in the middle which I think the owners did. The players are thinking the courts are on there side. If I was the judge I would side with the owners due to my comments above but I am not a judge.

I agree that compromise is typically the solution. The owners intial offer was akin to me offering $50,000 for Bill Gates house. Their is really no sense for him to make me a counter offer. The owners asked for crazy stuff then offered to reduce their crazy offers. Well good for them, show me the money (books).
