Cards knocked off the Dodgers, so they are my team. Plus, Boston fans are the worst in all of sports, so they deserve to continue to suffer through their recent history of failures.

I used to have a soft spot for the Red Sox. Back in the early 60's they would Spring Train just a few blocks from my house and it was a favorite hang out. I had a couple of baseballs signed by just about everyone on the 64 team and another one signed by Ted Williams when he showed up to watch them train. But these aren't the Red Sox of my youth so I'm fairly neutral in this battle between them and the Cardinals. The tipping point for me is that a Series win by Boston will irritate the Yankees fans and I'm all for anything that pisses off a New York fan.

Does Boston going into the post-season and the World Series suffice pissing off a New York fan? :thud:

I effing hate Boston, and even though I dig their beard thing, I want all their sports teams to suffer horribly. Sooo, I want a game seven where they lose a 5 run lead and choke in the end.

I have Wacha and Rosenthal as $1 keepers next year in my fantasy league. I might just keep them.

What a wierd ending to Game 3. Earlier the Cards go up by 2. Then tied. Then Cards go up by 2 again. Then tied again.

Then a walkoff in the bottom of the 9th, if you could call it that. An almost-double play with both outs recorded at the plate except for interference at 3B after the bad throw.

Beautiful ending. It doesn't matter if the interference was intentional or not, but it sure looked intentional to me.

Wow, that has to be the dumb as_ base running move of all time. Getting picked off first to end a World Series game. He wasn't even the tying run.

For the rest of eternity every time a kid is leading off first too far the coach will say, "Don't pull a Wong!"

Funny, I wished I had said it first.

Tim McCarver is living proof that just because you've done something for a long time doesn't mean that you're any good at it.

So sick of hearing every three minutes how its been a million years since the Red Sox clinched at home. Yeah all those long suffering fans had to go through the indignity of watching their team win titles from the comfort of their home or local sports bar. Yeah how terrible.
