Game honors go to Bell for his shut down work on Ginobili (AGAIN!) and to Thomas for his disruptive presence.

Amare did his thing again, but it still seems like there should be another gear there.

Marion sucks. I wish he'd perform decently not only to help our chances of winning but to help our chances of trading him!

Nash? Well, what can be said about 20/16?

Marion did his job. He doesn't need to score, but he hustled, got some rebounds, 3 blocks and Parker didn't do much today.

Game honors to Kurt. It was him and Nash who really won it for us today.

ridiculous - the game ball goes to the entire starting 5! Marion, Bell and KT were mothers on D, absolute MOTHERS!

Marion was invisible pretty much. It's not like he stopped Parker, Parker was for some reason totally out of it and didn't look to score really.

Split between KT and Raja.

Great all around game from both.

this is just freaking stupid - your hate overcomes your ability to see 10 boards, 3 blocks and totally shutting Parker down... and this comes from someone who bangs on Marion almost as much as you do. Give the guy his due for once. jesus.

KT, NASH, MARION, and Amare... just look at the stats.

KT helped by allowing us to stay on shooters... also hit 6-7

Marion stopped Parker effectively

Nash took over the game in the 2nd when the Spurs were beating us

Amare finally got some dunks and got to the line often.

Marion took one for the team. If he's willing to do that five more times, the Suns could actually win. Will egos get in the way of what everyone says is their common goal?

Actually, the whole team deserves major props. However, Kurt is the factor that altered the dynamics of everything on the court. And I'd say we will win this series if Marion can focus and be active like this.

PS: Eric, great minds seem to think alike, haha.

Amen Brother!

They all did what was asked of them, to call out Marion tonight means you missed something. He did what was expected of him and took Parker out of his rythem and cut his point total from the other night in HALF.

I agree. I was the lone member on the anti-Marion bandwagon at sometime and never changed my opinion that we should trade him. But he played a hell of a game, not flashy but effective. He also passed up on several possible shots to allow for better chances.

Two game balls.

Kurt Thomas gets the first one.

Marion keeping a hold of Parker.

I posted this at the Spurs forum, and I feel it is one of the most important stats.

If Tony Parker is held to under 20 points, Suns win.
If Tony Parker scores 21-27, either team can win.
If Tony Parker scores 28 or more, the Spurs win.

It will continue to be like that the rest of the series.

:stupid:

The Marion bashers just can't resist. Marion was a man tonight on D. Not to mention that the 3 that he hit was huge in terms of momentum.

Kurt gets my game ball.

Some people here will never be happy until Shawn's traded or finishes out his contract and signs somewhere else. He was the key to the win. It won't really show up on the box score, unless you look at Parker's points (13 from a guy who averaged 29 against us), but no way in hell do we win this game if TP is allowed to get in the lane and score 30 again. Timmy's gonna get his points, and Kurt deserves a lot of credit for making him work, but it's just amazing how people will bash on Marion no matter what. I was just as dissapointed as anybody else in the effort in game 1, but give him credit for tonight

No crap. So WHAT if Marion got 5 pts??? How many did he need? We won by 20, for Christ's sake.

Parker was never agressively attacking Marion like he did in game 1. Marion played no different on defense..

Oh, I almost forgot about Diaw. He was a different Diaw than we are used to.

He was VERY aggressive.

This was a team win tonight, but if you are going to give it to one person, you give it to Steve Nash!

In the 2nd quarter when the suns were struggling, with 8 minutes left, he took over the game and scored apx. 7 points, had 4 assists, and had a couple fouls on Duncan. He turned this game into a game that the suns could win by showing everyone that they could beat the Spurs.
Then, he continued that in the 2nd half. He really played like an MVP tonight!

Kt's defense on Duncan made all the difference late in the game. Props to the coach for having the guts to make the switch. It was the right move.

Unbelievable. Watch the game if you TIVO'd it. Marion was denying Parker the lanes and getting around screens. That was a huge difference from that to the first game. You must not have watched the same game as the rest of us. Then again, if Marion had 20-20 you would find a way to bash him I am sure. :doi:
