I believe that M. Spurlock, R. Robinson and Troy Walters are slated to get look sees. Anyone else worth mentioning.....Damien Anderson?

Wasn't BJ thought of as a possible kickoff returner?

Robinson has to be in the mix as well. A back-up RB with 4.3 speed - ideal for return duties

Yes.

He has done it in the past and has been mentioned by Green as well.

There are also to many others to mention, especially more of the UDFA's and Todd Watkins with his speed.

Too many others to mention? Rather a glib answer to an honest question.

Actually, I just revisited a number of scouting reports on Todd Watkins and they indicate that he has a LACK OF return skills.

In speaking with my scout friend that I sometimes refer to, he says that players at 6'3" are not usually effective as return men.

Being 6'3" doesnt make you a bad return man. Its the fact that most 6'3" men dont have the same speed and agility that 5'9" guys do. Its a speed issue not a height issue.

BJ is 6'3" as well.

For pure straight line speed which is what you need the most for kickoff returns there is no reason at all you cant have a 6'3" guy be the kickoff return man.

In the punt return game where the returners first move is usually a lateral one using ones agility, a taller player would struggle. So I agree that taller players are usually not effective in the punt return game but I see no reason for a taller player to not be able to be effective in the kickoff return game.

There was 6 Players in the top 15 kickoff return men last year who were 6'1" or taller.

As for the top 15 punt return men there wasnt a single guy over 5'11".

You heard it here first-- LeRon McCoy is going to get a shot to do some KR-PR duties this season.

If I was a betting man:

KR--Roger Robinson

PR--Troy Walters

Watkins could go to the PS, and BJ/Shipp could be done as Cardinals.

Shipp, yes. That thing has sailed.

BJ no...he hasn't gone down yet.

I'll take your bet that BJ wont be on this team. He is a very solid number three. He looked real good in the mini camp. My bet is if they need him at number (I hope that doesn't happen),two he will catch 75 balls. As a number three he will catch over 50.

Want to put a six pack up on it??

If he were to win the PR job....he'd make the team. But I don't think he would be able to beat out Walters. Also, I think DG likes LeBron James a lot, could be the 3rd wide this year.

There's no way the Cardinals can get him from the Cavaliers, and he would cost way too much if they could! :doi: j/k

BJ would likely not beat out Walters as a returner, but surely you don't think Walters is a better WR??

McCoy just might be the wild card in the whole scenario.
I admit having a bias in my opinion of LeRon, however he started coming on at the end of last season, he caught everything thrown to him during the recent Fan Fest, made some excellent catches in fact. He definitely has speed; 4.3 catagory; and he was a great KR in college.

Let's go Big Beer at a game this season (same price, more fun).

I think LeBron James will be the third WR (I like the guy a ton too, plays with heart).

I don't think BJ is out of here though; Denny is likely to keep a deep WR corp.

Our bet is on Bryant Johnson only, and whether he is or is not on the roster the first game of the regular season, correct? If so, I virtua-shake on it.

I was really disappointed they didn't stay with Sheldon a little longer. I see Indy has picked him up. He might just surprise. He was a great punt returner in college.

I wanna see the Rabbit run. We haven't had a good kick returner since...uh, have we ever had a consistent kick returner?

I've made up my mind. Robinson "The Rabbit" should get a real fair shot of making this team as a 3rd or 4th back returning punts and kick offs. The kid can play.

Vai Sikehema <sp>... It's been a while! Martay Jenkins had one decent year, I think.
