STILLWATER — Fresh off the best season of her Oklahoma State tenure, and one of the best seasons in program history, coach Jacie Hoyt went to work quickly to begin adding basketball talent to her roster.
The Cowgirls’ season concluded with a loss to 10th-seeded South Dakota State in the NCAA Tournament, the second appearance in the Big Dance in Hoyt’s first three seasons at OSU.

The younger sister of OSU star Stailee Heard, Tyla Heard is a 5-foot-11 swing player. Like her sister, she has shown the ability to contribute in multiple statistical categories. She averaged 14.3 minutes per game off the bench as a true freshman at ORU this past season, with her best game consisting of nine points, eight rebounds and seven assists against Haskell in December.
After two years of going against the Cowgirls, Whiting finds herself on the other side. Whiting started 63 games over two seasons with the Cougars, averaging 10.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists for her career. In a late February game against Kansas, Whiting had 24 points on 10 of 11 shooting with seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.

A highly productive high school player in Gruver, Texas, Butler joined the Cowgirls as a walk-on and appeared in 21 games over two seasons.
A 5-foot-10 guard from Little Elm, Texas, Evans appeared in nine games during her freshman season.
The daughter of former Major League Baseball player and manager Joe Girardi, Lena Girardi is a 5-foot-11 guard. The four-star prospect is rated as a top-100 player in the ESPNW recruit rankings. She averaged 30.8 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a senior at Grandview Prep in Boca Raton, Florida.
