JAS, and I'm not saying that you give up on the Cardinals, but consider following a second NFL team. It would give you a comparison, and by the start of the RS, you could leave the Cardinals, as a fan, or leave your other NFL team. Like I said it is just a suggestion.
Even as someone who thinks @Chris_Sanders might be going a little overboard, JAS to you… shove this post where the Sun don’t shine because the crap you just suggested is garbage.

Like I said, just a suggestion.

When Warren fell I was begging for a trade up. We run 3 TEs 30% of the time anyway.

Make Gronk / Hernandez without all the Gronk and especially Hernandez

After that it was clearly Golden/ Simmons for impact this year.
Yes, when Warren was there after #13 I was so hoping we would get him. If he had fell to us and Monti didn't pick him I was going to throw a rock through my TV and then hunt Monti down, tied him to a chair and beat him with a wet noodle until he cried and said I'm sorry.

Mixed bag there. People are going to get big mad
Well, I hope you're wrong, but there certainly is a LONG history of this franchise making mistakes.

I liked Nolen a lot, more than the other DTs that went higher. I do believe that when there is smoke, there is at least SOME fire, but at times the concerns are overblown.

This is no different than calling out fandom which is expressly forbidden. Please refrain from such “suggestion”

Fully disagree on Warren and think it would be even more egregious than taking a blocking TE in Round 3. Warren was TE2 on a lot of boards for a big reason: he's not a good inline Y.

The biggest reason that many of the 1st round TEs that failed to meet expectations is that they weren't effective inline TEs and basically just end up being big slots. Warren runs that risk. Loveland went before him even though he was a lot less productive because he is a much cleaner Y TE right now.

It's Friday.

Take a liquid lunch, and give your ego a break.

Come on, allow him to be mad without this.

I know the Cardinals have won a ridiculous number of Super Bowls and are beyond questioning, but @Chris_Sanders should be allowed to voice his feelings on the pick.

Yeah I didn't agree with it but I feel I know that Garth has a good heart and it came from that place and he wasn't being snarky.

BS… he’s made these kind of cracks against posters who don’t whistle Cardinals zippidy-foo-dah out of their butts forever.

Quite a few projected him to us. Many also had him going to the 49ers at 11. They ranked him 21st, which isn't far off.

I didn't want him, but we have him so LET'S GO!

No one prevents him from voicing his feelings, and others can disagree as they see fit.

I merely suggested a remedy (a few beers) that I use when I get fixated on something. It works for me.

I think it was a reach and there is a fair amount of risk with a one year wonder who didn't flash at the senior bowl.

Where did you get that from? He was getting tons of talk at the Senior Bowl.

He was a Daniel Jeremiah top 12 standout at the senior bowl week:

This video shows Nolan’s ability….but Ole Miss played a cupcake schedule and most of his clips came against those teams. We see Furman, Middle Tennessee, Ga. Southern and the SEC bottom feeders S. Carolina, Arkansas, Florida and Miss. St. Only one clip was from the school’s game against Georgia. My hope is that he plays 16 years and is rookie of the year and All Pro for the other 15. But I’d like to see tape of him playing against better opponents.
Very fair point Dave. I'll say however that one thing I noticed is that MOST of the highlights I saw at least for a majority of the draft were against cupcake opponents. I think the film dudes get the most explosive plays for each draftee which ironically come against the weaker opponents. I take it with a grain of salt.

I'm not trying to start a fight, but this just isn't true unless it's your personal projection. Nolen was universally projected as a mid first rounder, and I often saw him going right outside the top ten.

He was ranked 28 on The Ringer's Big Board; was 11 in their final mock draft. 21st on MockDraftable's consensus board.

To me this is one of the biggest boom or bust guys in the draft. His floor might be a little lower than a safe pick, but he's got so much upside. It's that dreaded "potential" pick for the Cards again. However, it wouldn't surprise me either way with Nolan. He could be an all time great, or a guy we cut loose in a few seasons. This coaching staff, I'm willing to think they can coach him up.

It's interesting that everyone touts his measurables but he didn't participate at the Combine. I know this is going to become more common, but I don't understand why there isn't more pressure on these guys to get out the tape measure.

You apparently don't understand that:

Harrison had better stats than Fitz and his father - two top 10 receivers of all time his rookie season - so it is insane to write him off as mediocre.

There is almost always improvement from a players rookie season - if they just look half way competent that is a very good sign

50% of draft picks are busts league wide - as in out of the league before their first contract is even over.

Every guy I listed is not going to be a bust - and that is over 50% of Monti's picks.
Of course it's an extremely different era today than it was in 1996 when Marvin Harrison, Sr. came out and 2004 when Fitzgerald was a rookie. Harrison was out-produced by two other rookies with arguably worse quarterback situations in Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas. He was also outproduced by Ladd McConkey, who wasn't exactly surrounded by people begging for targets.

We should expect a better second year, but it's not assured. Michael Wilson had fewer yards his second season.
