Who is the moron responsible for the stupid sound effects on the Fox broadcast of the Cards game I got via Sunday Ticket?

Along the top of the screen is the score/status bar and every time it changes an obnoxious intrusive sound effect is played.

Who is the embicile who thought this was a good idea and wheres the number to register my complaint!

lmao. I was wondering the same thing. My roommate thought the TV was about to transform and attack when he heard it(reminded me of the evil robot in Robocop 2).

Suggested solution.

Fire up your computer. Pay the nominal season fee for nfl.com. Listen to the PC "live" audio of the game with the sound turned down on your TV. (If you have TIVO or similar gizmo, you can hit the pause button to synchronize PC sound and TV video since one will lag the other). Plus - you get our announcers (Wolfley and Pasch) instead of the FOXies.

PS Actually, I usually turn the sound off anyway - whether or not I've set up the PC. I don't feel I gain much by listening to most TV announcing crews.

I'm watching the Cards game via Tivo today after watching it in Arizona yesterday....

I shouldn't have to shut my sound off. Fox should have known it was an ignorant decision in the first place.

Agree...those sound effects are not only stoo-pid, but completely annoying!!! :thumbdown

NFL fans should really let FOX hear about it via e-mails.

Here...follow this link and let your voice be heard.

Thank you for the link shocker, I sent them a pretty pointed comment.

I think if fans flood them with this stuff they might pay attention.

Yeah I was really complaining about this in another thread started by Russ earlier today. I sent in a big long complaint via that link. I have a feeling via some other places I browsed today that the link is really making it around, so hopefully things get changed.

Oh and Robocop plays football now. He's usually seen running drills when Fox returns from commercial. Who thinks these ridiculous things up?

Here's part of my note to Fox Sports (a very small part)

"What I want to see: football. What I don't want to see: robot graphics, silly noises, more stuff on the screen than I can read during an entire two minute drill."

The Valley so low.
Remember that this is the dumbya television network we're discussing. That tells you three things: First, if they smell competence around, they fire it. Second, they figure, accurately, that their fan base needs a robocop to occupy their short attention spans. Third, your emails had better call the show an "abortion" or they'll think you're an activist democrat and double the sound effects.

AMEN. I thought that I was just getting a little edgey as the game progressed. I'm glad somebody notice that too. It's friggin rediculous.

I bet it gets removed, pretty sure they will see it is not the wave of the future someone thought it would be, however I am all for new innovative ideas, as long as they remove them quickly once they have been deemed STOOPid...

it will get removed. earlier in the preseason fox tried to use 4 little dots to display the quarters and would light one up for quarter. it was pretty hard to see it and they scrapped it and went to the good ole 1st 2nd 3rd 4th

The other annoying thing was with all the nonsensical sound effects and graphics over and over they didn't have the down and distance up and the announcers weren't saying it.

I agree the sound effects were annoying but what about the play by play lisper. The guy could not pronounce an “s” sound at all. To hear him say; second and seven from the San Francisco seventeen, was priceless.

completely cartoonish. The less graphics the better man. What happened to the old days when a box at the top showed everything you need to know? Now with every score we get innundated with crap fantasy stats and more flashing lights than a damn pinball machine.

I totally agree! I was also annoyed by MNF and having Jamie Foxx and then Arnald Shwartzenegger in the booth, just comment on the games I don't care about Tom Cruise and Ketie Holmes or how much Foxx wants to have gay man love with Tom. I JUST WANNA WATCH THE FREAKIN GAME! What is this turning into Oprah?

Get over it...you will have your chance again in '08...just don't hold your breath...the lib hate routine is getting old

I was at the game, but emailed nonetheless;

My gosh, Fox really, really needs to get rid of the cheesy sound effects during its NFL broadcasts. During last Sunday's Cardinals/49ers game, Fox's ridiculous sound effects made me turn the sound down! Consider this a formal compaint and please add it to the no doubt growing pile.
