Hard telling, we're in a good position at QB though.

Looking at the highlights on NFL.com Matt looked like he was throwing with authority.
Not power, but like he knew where he wanted to go with the ball.
Against backups, but confidence is everything.

unbiased here. but I voted ML because he is the future of this team and he should be ready this year to lead. I think until this contreversy is settled he is going to struggle and look over his shoulder after every play. a QB contreversy of this magnitude is not healthy for your guys. it doesn't help as much as it hurts IMO. I already have a strong opinion on warner. I think he is good. and if this team is shooting for 8-8 to 10-6 as a ceiling.....then maybe he is your guy. but his years are numbered and I don't see him leading the cards to the promise land. Either way even if he starts I see leinart taking over at some point.

This is the point that I think most Cards fans need to appreciate. Irrespective of who you think should be starting, this competition means that when and if something happens to the starter, the back up is fully capable of picking up where the starter left off.

There are many teams (our week 1 opponent for example) that don't even have a capable #1

that's why that game is a must win for the cards. how did they lose twice to them last year despite being set with two QB's. while i like leinart and warner.......i'm not ready to say that I would be comfortable if I were a cards fan(at the Q position). maybe a bit more than the 49ers....but watch out for a guy like O'sullivan

Right or wrong I'm expecting the coach to tab Lienart to start; I'm expecting to hear a full dose of Warner complaints (we may even get a Brenda sighting).

I think and fear that by game 4 we have numerous people asking to be traded (Warner being one of them), not because we're stinking it up, simply because a few players aren't happy with their role and or pay.

I voted in Whis we trust. Feels a bit like a cop out but I don't have access to the locker room, game & practice films etc. As several have already posted I will be happy with either one starting.

To avoid the "cop out" feeling I will go on record choosing Leinart. QB of the future and less likely to create TO's. Such a tough decision though. Warner earned even more respect from me last year playing hurt and producing some amazing results.

IMO, Leinart could still learn from watching Warner from the sidelines for another year. And if he is asked to start because Warner is hurt or poor play, he may play better than being named the starter.

I love Matt and in an ideal world want him to be the QBOF now. I was proud he bounced back after last week and he had shades of Tom Terrific in yesterdays game IMO.

But I don't pretend to have more insight then Wisenhunt.

Damn its nice to have a coach that you trust!

Let's not get too carried away on "Whiz is a coach we can trust" stuff. I hope (and currently think) he is, but much of the board was saying the same things about Denny Green early on, too. Look it up if you don't believe me.

I feel exactly the same way except I'm not sure which one is less likely to create turnovers. When we beat the 49ers, I will believe Whis made the right choice no matter what.

You can be as pessimistic as you want Pariah but while I had hope for Denny because of his past success, Wisenhunt has done enough since he has been here in terms of drafting, play calling, handling of the media for me to be completely bought in.

I'm not going to say he won't make mistakes and maybe ultimately the Cardinals and thier ownership are just too much to overcome.

But I have watched the NFL long enough to know what constitutes a good NFL coach and he has it.

Did you not read were I thought Whiz WAS the guy we are all (including me) hoping he is?

It's not pessimism, it's just trying to reign in some the unbridled optimism around here. We went 8-8 last season and won 4 games in the seasons prior. There IS reason to be optimistic, but we're not exactly superbowl contenders, yet.
