I get that, but let's see what actually happened there.
Kolb was 2 of 3 as a passer in the 3rd quarter for 22 yards in a drive that netted 6 first downs but only 1 3rd down. Drive ended with a field goal after failing to cash in after first-and-goal from the 5.
Second drive Kolb went 2 for 3 for 62 yards. Kolb converted a 3rd and 3 with a nifty pass to Andre Roberts. Drive ends with Beanie punching one in.
Third drive Kolb goes 1 for 3 for 14 yards and takes a sack on 2nd and 9, followed up by a false start on Colledge.
Fourth drive is a three-and-out aided by Kolb going oh for 2.
So you end up with Kolb going five of 11 for 98 yards (a very good 8.9 YPA, though) on a half of football that gets you all of 10 points.
If this is as good as Kolb can be, then this team is in a lot of trouble.
Kolb actually completed fewer passes in the 2nd half than he did in the 1st vs the Cowboys (not counting the OT of course). But his yards per attempt went from 4.0 to 11.0 and yards per completion from 6.2 to 20.2. It would be interesting to see what the Cards or Dallas did to facilitate that big jump.
Of course those two goofy plays near the end of the half where the Cards with 2nd and 1 throw a sideways pass for -2 and then a dump off for 2 yards and end up having to punt.
9 consecutive pass plays resulted in 3 sacks, 3 incomplete passes, the two 2s and a 9 yard gain.
Kolb was sacked 4 times in the first half. That's why I think Skelator should play. JS is bigger and so should be able to hold up better under the defensive onslaught unleashed by the stellar blocking of Keith & Brown.
