I'll be the guy who asks: Do we really need more James Bond?

At 50 Idris Elba is a little too old for James Bond but if they want to mix it up a bit, Jessica Alba is only 42.I liked Idryss Alba too
Nah, not going to complain about more Bond flicks. The franchise is vastly different than other franchises, and is very much the legacy project. I'm just wondering if there are any other posters who wouldn't be sad if they ended. When we get the new Bond and the new movie is due out, I'll check it out to see if it's something for me to see.Sheesh, just don't watch it. My god do you have to complain about everything?? Cavill would be nails as Bond. Check him out in the awesome Man from U.N.C.L.E. for a comp. And, hey, he's not working right now..."Henry Cavill is another frontrunner for the role, and interestingly, Cavill auditioned to play Bond in Casino Royale. Cavill is currently 40 years old, which is a little on the older side, but he's still younger than when Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan first played 007. Tom Hardy, who is 45, is another contender for the role, and while that would mean he'd be playing Bond until he's 57 if producers get their way, the actor is in the greatest shape of his career and at the top of his game. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the most popular candidate with the bookies to play James Bond, is 33 years old, and in terms of age, he's perfect for producers' plans."

It sounds like everyone is pretty much in consensus that Idris would be great but too old to start as the next Bond. What do you guys think of him as the villain in the next one? Could maybe even do a 2 movie arc. I'm thinking something along the line of Casino Royal in tone to kick off the next Bond with him as the big baddie.
My big concern with doing this is that he might out shine the next Bond. We probably need to see who that is first. They'd need to pick a really strong hire to not have Idris steal the show.
This could be interesting. I wouldn't call him Bond though but he could be 007 to start. 007 vs Bond: Bond Harder. As I was reading this, I thought it would be cool to start the movie with Idris as an aging Bond, but something happens and he ends up going bad, so the new, younger Bond who eventually takes his place steps in to stop him and this becomes his origin story. Bond Vs. Bond: Bonded by Bondsmen Bondage!
yeah but... nobody admits to BondoI always thought those sex scenes in James Bond shouldn't have had the women saying "Oh, James!" They should have said, "Bond, oh!" My car friends would have liked that. Bondo was in the movie!
Bondo

If the last two films were any indication of the next phase of Bond movies then no.I'll be the guy who asks: Do we really need more James Bond?
