Move down, take Justice, move Ross to Left Guard next to Davis. Sign Kevin Mawae.

Davis - Ross - Step - Mawae - Justice

Leckey - Clancy - Brown as backups.

Or.... Draft Huff at 10. Maybe Vernon Davis.

Davis and Edge would really help our redzone offense.

It'd be more like Davis - Ross - Mawae - Brown - Justice. I could live with that pick. I like his team mate Lutui in the 2nd round too.

BTW Clancy's a DT ----

I agree Kevin Mawae would help anchor the Interior and also adds much needed experience with line audibles and leadership. Would be a great Add-on. Then I would like to see us add The DB from the Jaguars. Kenny Wright! He would help with our depth in the secondary, possibly even start. If we did these two signings and entered into the draft, we could be set for a nice run for the play-offs.

Normally, I'd say some reasonable choice (ie McQuarters). But, I'm feeling saucy today, so I'll say Jullian Peterson.

He didn't really have any serious injuries till last season.

He's 35 and missed 10 games with a tricep injury. Perhaps it was a fluke injury but IMO a 12 yr veteran with that type of injury it is often a sign of a body breaking down. 1 or 2 yrs with playing time incentives otherwise forget it.

Back to reality. Sign an experienced FA OL that has recently been cut like Shields or Mawae to a one year contract with a option on the 2nd year.

I would go BPA at #10 but also strongly consider Winston Justice at that time if he is close to others being considered. Would also draft a couple of more OLs. Realize they are for the future but can start contributing this year.

We do need a KR/PR and another DB. As already mentioned Wright and McQuarters will be here on Monday. Neither will be very expensive.

This sounds like a good plan to me. Have to get that experienced OL before doing anything else.

I don't think Young will be there, I'd guess if he is that's who we will take, but if he's gone and Davis is there, that's probably going to be our pick.

DG made all the statements about our young and comming TE's, that we are good to go there, that kind of thing is the kiss of death from DG.

I'm sure now that Davis is the target, Rowen runs an offense that can utilize a TE and with our WR and Edge if we get him, that's basically the Super Bowl contender in a box.

Yes. Go after this guy now. Didn't I read their is some mutual interest?

His Agent said that we were one of the teams that gave him a call. I dont think his agent said anything about interest though.

Mawae is still in Hawaii at a players rep meeting so I dont think he can schedule any meetings until Tuesday at the earliest.

I'd be OK with Davis but Young or even Cutler would have been sweet at #1....although some on here disagree.

It would be nice to get a QB in the later rounds.

Now what? Julian, Runyan, who?

Its been a great couple of days for all cardinal fans. Great job to land teh guys we did, and at an un-cardinal like pace. Anyways, what is the next step in FA.

Whats the latest with Julian Peterson. There has been very little talk about him on any message board that I have come across. We still need a OLB, and he would make a nice book end to Dansby. Sounds like the cards are OK with Hayes coming back.

Runyan and other OL are still out there, as well as some DB help.

After the Edge deal, what is our cap situation going forward?

I'd like to see us sign McQuarters as a return guy.

Another OL guy wouldn't hurt.

Not sure if we have enough money for Peterson.

I would consider getting VD

cdob brings up a great point about Rowen's offense.

Now think about a 2 TE set with VD, with his skills he would be like having a 3rd WR on the field.

Defenses wouldn't know if we are running a power formation or a receiving formation. What package would they counter with? If they play the run then Q, Fitz, VD and Bergen will not all be covered. If they play pass then we have 2 TE's for blocking and Edge will make them pay.

If you read the opponets message boards, the common theme in most of the posts is that they are scared to death that's who we end up picking.

That really would make our offense with a quick decision maker like Warner as the QB, almost a pinball machine of scoring.

Goosebump time.

Plus KW is very good at audibling.

The other point is we could handle an injury to one of our elite playmakers much easier. KW and Edge are the ones that have to stay healthy.

We need some experience on the OL. Who else is available other than Mawae for OL upgrade?

Kevin Mawae

Take Mawae and have Steph and Leckey learn under Mawae. Steph really needs to learn how to snap the shotgun because he cant as of right now.
